WELCOME TO ISRAEL
Thu. Feb 15, 2024
  • Arrive at Ben-Gurion International Airport.
  • Transfer on own to Tel Aviv & Check into your hotel.
  • 7: 30 p.m. Meet your trip leaders in lobby of Dan Panorama Tel Aviv
  • Enjoy dinner together at a local restaurant.

DAY 3
ON THE GROUND
Fri. Feb 16, 2024
  • Meet your J² Expert Educator, Lior Hochberg, and get an overview of what it going on in Israel today.
  • Visit the Tel Aviv Art Museum to see art which commemorates October 7th, followed by a visit to Hostage Square.
  • Explore Nahalat Binyamin, Tel Aviv’s arts and crafts market before we move on to the Carmel Market and have lunch on own.
  • Return to the hotel to freshen up before Shabbat.
  • Kabbalat Shabbat at Kehilat Beit Samueli (Kehillat Ra’anan) or Kehilat Or Hadash. Enjoy the opportunity to meet and share a Shabbat meal with local congregants at your Israeli sister community.
  • Return to the hotel.

DAY 4
SHABBAT IN TEL AVIV
Sat. Feb 17, 2024
  • Head to kibbutz Gezer and join morning services with the local congregation.
  • A Personal Account: Hear from a family member of Keith and Aviva Siegel. Aviva has been released in the latest humanitarian aid agreement, and Keith is still being held hostage in Gaza. The family is from Birkat Shalom community in Kibbutz Gezer.
  • Hear from a colleague of Vivian Silver, a peace activist who was killed on October 7, whose moving funeral took place in Kibbutz Gezer just a few weeks ago.
  • Return to Tel Aviv & enjoy lunch (on own).
  • Join Doris Hiffawi for coffee in her home to hear about her life as a Christian Arab in Jaffa, and how life has changed since October 7th.
  • Participate in a Havdalah ceremony, led by Rabbi Tsfoni, at the Square with members of the Reform community as well as family members of the kidnapped.

DAY 5
EXTENDING OUR HAND
Sun. Feb 18, 2024
  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Due to a lack of workers, Israelis now volunteer to work in agriculture. Join community members from Kehilat Ra'anan in harvesting fields in order to provide fresh produce for the country.
  • Head to Gush Etzion for a dialogue with Oded Ravivi, Mayor of Efrat.
  • Enter Jerusalem and share a traditional “shehechiyanu” blessing of thanksgiving.
  • Check into the hotel.
  • A time to reflect and share about the trip.

DAY 6
AGENTS OF CHANGE
Mon. Feb 19, 2024
  • Meet with Professor Reuven Hazan of the Political Science Department at Hebrew University for an update on the Israel-Hamas War and its impacts on Israeli life and society.
  • Meeting with Adam Teva v'Din to explore the ecological impacts of the ongoing military operation, and the organization's role in the global environmental movement.
  • Take part in an interactive workshop with Jerusalem Youth Chorus alumni and staff. Hear about the struggle of continuing intercommunity dialogue work during times of turmoil.
  • Use your Yamishuk voucher to enjoy lunch at the Mahane Yehuda Market and shop to support the Israeli economy.
  • Meet with Gisha to learn about the rights of Gazans and their reality during the ongoing operation.
  • Free time & dinner (on own).
  • An inside look with an Israeli family: Meet with friends of Rodef Shalom, the Bar-Efrat family. (Optional session)

DAY 7
KOL ISRAEL AREVIM
Tue. Feb 20, 2024
  • Meet US ambassador to Israel, Jack Lew, and discuss US-Israel relations. (pending confirmation)
  • Meet with a leader from IRAC (Religious Action Center) to learn about social justice initiatives in Israel.
  • Engage with Temple Rodef Shalom community member and HUC Rabbinic Student Sarah Weinberg.
  • Lunch on own.
  • Meet with Forum Devora, an NGO working tirelessly to ensure the place of women in security decision-making.
  • Gather together for a processing session before enjoying a free evening.

DAY 8
RESILIENCE AND HOPE
Wed. Feb 21, 2024
  • Check out of the hotel and head north.
  • Meet with members of displaced community Nahal Oz at their temporary home on Kibbutz Mishmar HaEmek. Hear their personal accounts and help lift their spirits.
  • Head to Tel Aviv.
  • Closing processing session with your Rabbis and Cantor.
  • Join local artists in making kalaniyot, a flower which symbolized the communities of the Gaza Envelope, out of clay to be added to art instillations around the country.
  • Farewell dinner and transfer to Ben-Gurion International Airport.

What to expect

  • 6 nights' accommodations.
  • 6 days of touring with a J² Expert Educator (guide), 6 days of touring in a luxury, air-conditioned bus.

  • US and foreign airport taxes, Q fuel surcharge and border taxes when applicable.
  • Value Added Tax is currently not applicable to tourists visiting Israel. Should the law change, you will be notified accordingly, and VAT will be added to your final invoice.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required in order to complete the registration process.
  • For any assistance with this registration process or other trip-related queries, please email Customer Care: customercare@j2adventures.com.
  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due on Jan 12, 2024. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    •  Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
