Morocco is a rarity in the Arab world, boasting a long and rich history of Arab-Jewish coexistence. At its peak, over 250,000 Jews lived in Morocco. Today only 3,000 Jews remains, a third of whom reside in Casablanca. Regardless of the shrinking Jewish population, King Mohammed VI, revered and respected by Moroccan citizens, is working hard to revive Jewish heritage in Morocco, and Casablanca is home to the only Jewish museum in the Arab world.
