DAY 3
ADVENTURE IN THE NEGEV
Mon. Dec 23, 2024
  • Experience a Jeep ride in the Zin Valley.
  • Hike through the wonderful canyon of Ein Avdat, a source of water in the dry Negev Desert.
  • Visit the Chan Hashayarot encampment in the Negev Desert for Bedouin-style hospitality, a camel ride, and a “hafla” dinner.

DAY 4
NATURE AND SPIRIT
Tue. Dec 24, 2024
  • Visit the home of David Ben-Gurion at Kibbutz Sde Boker, and hear about his vision of the Negev and the State of Israel.
  • Visit the Salad Trail, a unique touch-and-taste farm in the northern Negev. The tour gives a hands-on display of agricultural high-tech, and a crash course in environmental techniques.
  • Restore and Rebuild: Drive to Kibbutz Holit and meet with members followed by dinner. On the morning of Simchat Torah, October 7, 2023, the community of Holit lost 15 of its pillars, who were murdered, six more were injured. Temple Emanu-El is actively supporting the members of the Kibbutz.

I DIG ISRAEL

  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Take part in an interactive archeological dig geared to all ages at the Beit Guvrin Caves.
  • Drive by Tel Azeka, the site of David’s biblical battle against Goliath.
  • Stop at the Haas Promenade for a traditional shehehiyanu blessing of thanksgiving.
  • Check into the hotel and gather for the first Hanukkah candle.

DAY 6
HISTORY & SPIRITUALITY IN JERUSALEM
Thu. Dec 26, 2024
  • Celebrate Bnei Mitzvah at Ezrat Israel, the pluralistic section of the Kotel (Western Wall).
  • Tour the Jerusalem Archaeological Park, including the Davidson Center and Robinson’s Arch.
  • Tour Jerusalem's Old City and the Jewish Quarter.
  • Among the highlights will be:
    • The Cardo, the main street of Roman-controlled Jerusalem and its Byzantine-era columns.
    • King Hezekiah’s “Broad Wall,” built to protect Jerusalem from invasion 2,700 years ago.
    • Hurva Square, the center of modern-day life in the Jewish Quarter.
  • Tour the Citadel moat and the “Kishle” in the Tower of David Museum.
  • Climb to the rooftops, overlooking the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the golden Dome of the Rock, and the famous Hurva Synagogue.
  • Enjoy photo opportunities at Live the Bible.
  • Explore the Western Wall Tunnel.
  • Return to the hotel for the second Hanukkah candle.

JEWISH MEMORY, JEWISH RENEWAL

  • Adults and children over 10: Visit Yad Vashem, the national memorial to the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Your guided tour will include:
    • The Historical Museum.
    • The Avenue of the Righteous.
  • Children’s program: The Bloomfield Science Museum.
  • All: Experience the sights, smells, and tastes of Jerusalem while walking through the Mahane Yehuda open-air market.
  • Return to the hotel for the third Hanukkah candle.
  • Kabbalat Shabbat services at a local Reform community.
  • Home Hospitality/communal Shabbat dinner with local congregants OR festive Shabbat dinner at the hotel.

DAY 8
THE DEAD SEA BASIN

  • Climb via the Snake Path OR via the Roman Ramp OR take the cable car to the top of Masada.
  • Hike in Nahal David, part of the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve.
  • Float into happiness on the Dead Sea where the feeling of weightlessness is great fun.
  • Return to the hotel for the fourth Hanukkah candle and Havdalah ceremony.
  • Take an evening tour through the Jerusalem neighborhoods to experience the Festival of Lights.

DAY 9
CULTURE & CREATIVITY IN TEL AVIV

  • Check out of the hotel and drive to Tel Aviv.
  • Walk along the Independence Trail in Tel Aviv and embark on a remarkable journey that begins with the founding of Tel Aviv in 1909 and ends with the establishment of Israel in 1948.
  • Join an expert on Tel Aviv’s alternative scene for an urban adventure and graffiti tour.  
  • Visit Rabin Square and learn about former Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin, who was assassinated in 1995.
  • Israel on a Plate: If you want to learn how to cook like an Israeli, this cooking workshop at The Cooking Experience is the real deal. In a unique Ottoman-era manor house graced with Italian marble pillars and painted floors, learn the secrets of the Israeli kitchen. Guided by an expert chef, work together to create a variety of culinary selections, and then savor the results for your farewell dinner.
  • Transfer to Ben-Gurion International Airport.

  • 7 nights' accommodations.
  • 8 days of touring with a J² Expert Educator (guide), 8 days of touring in a luxury, air-conditioned bus.
  • Daily breakfast, 5 dinners.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required in order to complete the registration process.
  • For any assistance with this registration process or other trip-related queries, please email Customer Care: customercare@j2adventures.com.
  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
