DAY 3
A NEW HEBREW CITY
Mon. Apr 8, 2024
  • Stop at the Jaffa Overlook for an introduction to Tel Aviv and to our journey in Israel.
  • Visit the Peres Peace Center, created by the late Shimon Peres, former Prime Minister and President of Israel. Our visit will include:
    • A tour of the Israeli Innovation Center, which celebrates the people and companies that are making Israel the “innovation nation.”
  • Eat, drink, and learn at Levinsky Market, where we’ll sample food, sweets, and spices from all over the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
  • Visit ANU - Museum of the Jewish People, which is dedicated to telling the ongoing story of the Jewish people.

DAY 4
TO THE NORTH

  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Guided visit to the ancient city of Caesarea.
  • Visit Rish Lakish Olive Press, located on Moshav Zippori in the Galilee.
  • Spend time in Tsfat, where you will:
    • Walk through the Artists’ Colony.
    • Visit the Ari Synagogue.
    • See the Caro Synagogue, built originally, like the Ari Synagogue, in the 16th century.
  • Join an Israeli Arab family at their home to talk, over tea and coffee, about their lives and to join them for a GalilEat cooking workshop, followed by a traditional dinner and knafeh workshop.
  • Check into the hotel.

DAY 5
NATURE AND SECURITY

  • Visit the Tel Dan Nature Reserve.
  • Watch the views from Mt. Bental.
  • Sample the Golan Height’s finest wine at the Pelter Winery, owned by brothers who ran this winery out of their family farm backyard.
  • Tour and enjoy a tasting session at Buza (Arabic for ice cream), an Arab-Jewish joint venture which uses natural ingredients and Italian techniques to create Galilean glida (Hebrew for ice cream).
  • Dinner at the Hotel.

DAY 6
THE SPIRIT OF PIONEERS
Thu. Apr 11, 2024
  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Visit the Hula Nature Reserve, home to thousands of storks, cranes, pelicans, and flamingos. Enjoy bike-riding and golf-carting.
  • Visit the Kinneret Cemetery where iconic Zionist figures are buried.  
  • Visit Kibbutz Sde Eliyahu for an interactive tour of the Bio-Bee fields.
  • Explore Jordan’s multi-faith heritage on a visit to Mount Nebo. Christians believe this is the Mount Nebo written about in the Hebrew Bible which Moses climbed to look upon the Promised Land before he died. We will go to the top of this rocky ridge and gaze upon Israel including, if the day is clear, views of Jerusalem. We’ll also visit the church, built in 597 CE, to mark where, according to Christian tradition, Moses was buried. A feature of the church is its remarkable mosaics.
  • Drive south through the Jordan Valley.
  • Stop at Mount Scopus in Jerusalem for a traditional “shehechiyanu” blessing of thanksgiving.
  • Check into Jerusalem.

DAY 7
A CITY OF GOLD

  • Tour Jerusalem’s Old City and the Jewish Quarter.
  • Among the highlights will be:
    • A climb to the rooftops, overlooking the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the golden Dome of the Rock, and the famous Hurva Synagogue.
    • The Cardo, the main street of Roman-controlled Jerusalem and its Byzantine-era columns.
    • King Hezekiah’s “Broad Wall,” built to protect Jerusalem from invasion 2,700 years ago.
    • Hurva Square, the center of modern-day life in the Jewish Quarter.
    • Visit The Jerusalem Archaeological Park. 
  • Visit the Kotel (Western Wall).
  • Explore the Western Wall Tunnel.
  • Sample some local Hummus and delicacies.
  • Attend Friday services at Kehillat Kol Haneshama, a leading Reform congregation.
  • Home hospitality communal Dinner.

DAY 8
SHABBAT IN JERUSAELM

  • Explore the pastoral neighborhoods of Yemin Moshe and Mishkenot Sha'ananim, where the great banker and philanthropist Sir Moses Montefiore developed the famous windmill and the artists’ colony.
  • Explore the Israel Museum, housing more than 5,000 years of cultural treasures.
  • Mark the end of Shabbat with a communal Havdalah ceremony overlooking the Old City.
  • Watch the Night Spectacular at the Tower of David Museum, a cinematic celebration of sight and sound depicting the story of Jerusalem.

    • Visit Yad Vashem. Your guided tour will include:
      • The Avenue of the Righteous.

      • Tour the Old City’s Christian quarter and explore inter-religious relations with Hana Bendcowsky, Director of the Jerusalem Center for Jewish-Christian Relations.
    • Option 2:
      • The Museum of Holocaust Art.
      • The Valley of the Communities.
      • The Sculpture Garden.
      • The Learning Center.
  • All:
    • Experience the Mahane Yehuda open-air market.
    • Take a multi-cultural tasting journey through the area where Jerusalemites shop and enjoy lunch.
    • Enjoy a nighttime graffiti tour of the Mahane Yehuda Shuk (market).

THE DEAD SEA BASIN

  • Climb via the Snake Path.

  • Visit Qumran.

  • Visit the Ayalon Institute near Rehovot and its secret ammunition factory.
  • Sustainability: Jerusalem Market tour focusing on food security with Metzilot Hamazon, The Jerusalem Food Rescuers, whose aim is to create a more just and sustainable urban food system with less waste.
  • Return to the hotel for some shopping time.
  • Late Check out of the hotel.
  • Festive farewell dinner.
  • Group transfer to Ben Gurion International Airport and check in for your flight.

What to expect

  • 9 nights' accommodations. Late check out on the day of departure is included.
  • 10 days of touring with a tour educator (guide) in a luxury, air-conditioned bus.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit is required in order to complete the registration process.

  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
  • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
  • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.

  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
