Packing. Let's get practical.

Your excitement level is high. Well, it would be if not for the logistics and dreaded packing. Worry not! An essential packing checklist is coming your way, making sure you have everything you need – from clothes and deodorant to chargers and cameras.

HAND LUGGAGE
  • Please clearly mark each piece of your luggage with your full name and phone number.
  • Passport
  • Photocopy of your passport
  • Credit cards/cash
  • Health & travel insurance documents
  • Prescription medications (and any medications you will need while traveling, including Tylenol/Aspirin)
  • Snacks
  • Mobile device/charger/camera
  • One change of clothing
  • Books and magazines
  • Reading glasses/sunglasses
  • Hand sanitizer/wet wipes/tissues
  • Any liquids should be in containers no larger than 100 ml (3.4 ounces) and placed in a transparent re-sealable plastic bag (up to 20 x 20 cm)
  • No tweezers or sharp instruments
WEATHER
  • Summer (June–August)
    • Light layers – Evenings can be cool (15°C–25°C/59°F–77°F daytime).
    • Rain jacket or compact umbrella – Sudden showers are common.
    • Sunscreen & sunglasses – Long daylight hours.
    • Insect repellent – For forests and lakes.
  • Winter (November–March)
    • Heavy coat – Temperatures can drop to -20°C/-4°F inland.
    • Thermal layers & gloves – Essential for outdoor walks.
    • Waterproof boots – Snow and slush in cities and countryside.
    • Lip balm & moisturizer – Dry indoor heating and cold winds.
  • Spring & Autumn
    • Layered clothing – Weather changes quickly; waterproof outerwear recommended.
    • Sturdy shoes – For muddy trails and rural roads.
  • Use a website such as weather.com to find average temperatures and rainfall during your travel time.
TOILETRY BAG BASICS
  • Toothbrush/toothpaste/floss
  • Hair products including brush/comb
  • Deodorant & personal hygiene items
  • Shampoo/conditioner
  • Moisturizer/makeup
  • Contact lenses/solution/contact lens case/glasses
  • Shaving kit
  • Cologne/perfume
  • Sunscreen
  • Insect repellent
  • If you plan to bring hair dryers/straighteners, make sure to have the appropriate electrical converter
MISCELLANEOUS
  • Small backpack for day touring
  • Folding bag or small duffel bag
  • Travel journal and pen
  • Sewing & clothing care kit/stain remover
  • Comfortable walking shoes
  • Travel adapter – Estonia uses Type F plugs of Type C (European standard, 230V)
  • Modest attire – For synagogue visits and memorial sites
  • Reusable water bottle – Tap water is safe and excellent quality
