ARRIVAL & FIRST ENCOUNTERS WITH ISRAEL

  • Arrive at Ben-Gurion International Airport, where you are welcomed and assisted through arrival formalities, ensuring a smooth and meaningful start to your experience.
  • Meet your J² Expert Educator, who will accompany the group throughout the journey—guiding conversations, asking big questions, and helping participants connect experiences to their own identities and values.
  • Travel north along Israel’s Mediterranean coast and stop at Caesarea, where ancient Roman ruins sit alongside the modern Israeli landscape. Here, begin exploring the idea that Israel is layered with history - from ancient civilizations to the modern Jewish state.
  • Continue north to the Galilee. After check-in, gather for an engaging and interactive “Israel 101” session.

ROOTS & RENEWAL: EARLY ZIONISM AND THE LAND
Mon. May 31, 2027
  • Begin at the Kinneret Cemetery, where some of the most influential early Zionist pioneers are buried. Through storytelling and discussion, explore how their dreams, struggles, and ideals helped shape the foundations of modern Israel - and what it means to build a society from vision.
  • Travel to Tzfat (Safed), one of Judaism’s four holy cities and a center of Kabbalah. Meet a local artist and explore how spirituality, creativity, and identity intersect in contemporary Israeli life.
  • Continue to Agamon Hula, a powerful example of environmental transformation. Once a malarial swamp drained by early settlers, it has since been restored into a thriving ecosystem. As you bike or ride through the reserve, consider how Israel continues to evolve - and how values shift over time.

BORDERS, SECURITY & EVERYDAY LIFE

  • Ascend Mount Bental in the Golan Heights and look out over the border into Syria. Through guided discussion, unpack Israel’s geopolitical realities and consider what it means to live in a region shaped by ongoing conflict.
  • Hike in the lush Banias Nature Reserve, where waterfalls and ancient ruins offer a striking contrast to the region’s political complexity.
  • Visit a northern kibbutz and meet Israeli teens, engaging in honest conversation about daily life, identity, and growing up in a region impacted by security concerns.

DIVERSITY & SHARED SOCIETY

  • Check out of the hotel and begin the day by volunteering with Leket Israel, participating in hands-on food rescue efforts that support vulnerable communities across the country. Through this experience, participants engage directly with questions of responsibility, social justice, and what it means to care for others within Israeli society.
  • Continue with a powerful encounter with members of the Ethiopian-Israeli community, hearing personal stories of migration, identity, and belonging. Through dialogue, explore both the successes and ongoing challenges of integration, and reflect on how diverse communities shape the fabric of Israeli society.
  • Gather as a group for a facilitated session that brings together texts, voices, and lived experiences to explore the question: What does it mean to be part of Israeli society today?
  • Continue south to the Negev Desert, watching the landscape shift dramatically as you enter a region central to Israel’s future vision.
  • Check into your accommodations and prepare for the next stage of the journey.

THE NEGEV: VISION, LAND & LIVED REALITY

  • Begin the day with a visit to Kibbutz Sde Boker, where David Ben-Gurion chose to live in the desert as a reflection of his belief that Israel’s future would be shaped in the Negev. Standing at his home and overlooking his gravesite, engage in a conversation about vision, leadership, and the role of idealism in building a state. Consider what it means to dream big - and what it takes to turn vision into reality.
  • Continue into the desert landscape with a hike through Ein Avdat, a stunning canyon carved by water over thousands of years. As you walk among towering rock formations and desert springs, experience firsthand the contrast between harsh environment and hidden life. This hike creates an opportunity to reflect on themes of perseverance, resilience, and the relationship between people and place in Jewish tradition and Israeli identity.
  • After the hike, visit one of the region’s Lone Farms or eco-farms, where individuals and families have chosen to build lives in remote desert areas. Through conversation with local pioneers, explore modern expressions of Zionism, sustainability, and what motivates people to create community in challenging environments.
  • In the afternoon, travel to Rahat for a meaningful encounter with Bedouin youth, engaging in open dialogue about identity, opportunity, tradition, and change within Bedouin society. This conversation offers a powerful window into one of Israel’s minority communities and raises important questions about shared society, inequality, and coexistence.

DESERT AS CLASSROOM: WONDER, REFLECTION & CONNECTION

  • Begin the day early with a sunrise hike along the edge of the Ramon Crater, one of the world’s most unique geological formations. As the desert comes alive with light and color, use this powerful setting to explore why so many foundational Jewish moments - revelation, wandering, transformation - take place in the wilderness.
  • Return for breakfast and rest before continuing to the Mitzpe Ramon Visitors Center, where interactive exhibits and panoramic viewpoints deepen your understanding of the crater’s geology, history, and human stories.
  • Later in the day, visit the Alpaca Farm, a unique and unexpected encounter in the heart of the desert. Interacting with the animals and learning about this innovative agricultural initiative offers a lighter, joyful experience while also highlighting creativity, entrepreneurship, and adaptation in the Negev.
  • As evening falls, gather for stargazing on the edge of the crater, far from city lights. Guided by your educator, connect to the vastness of the desert sky and reflect on themes of perspective, humility, and belonging within something much larger than ourselves.

OCTOBER 7 & ITS AFTERMATH: MEMORY, LOSS & RESPONSIBILITY

  • Travel toward the Gaza border region and meet a resident of Kibbutz Nahal Oz, hearing firsthand about the events of October 7 and the ongoing realities faced by communities in the area. Through personal storytelling, gain insight into resilience, fear, strength, and the complexity of life in this region.
  • Continue to the Nova Festival memorial site, where participants will encounter the human stories behind the tragedy. Through guided reflection, consider how societies remember loss - and how memory shapes identity and responsibility.
  • Visit a nearby viewpoint and engage in a conversation about security, leadership, and the role of young people in shaping Israel’s future.
  • Travel to Tel Aviv and prepare for Shavuot, celebrating with a festive dairy meal.
  • In the evening, join Israeli peers for a Tikkun Leil Shavuot, creating space for shared learning, questioning, and connection across cultures.

TEL AVIV: CREATIVITY, FREEDOM & CONTEMPORARY ISRAEL

  • After a later start following the night of learning, explore the Independence Trail, tracing the story of Tel Aviv’s founding and the declaration of the State of Israel.
  • Continue to Florentin, where vibrant street art reflects the voices, tensions, and creativity of contemporary Israeli society. Through guided exploration, consider how art becomes a platform for expression, protest, and identity.
  • Enjoy time at the beach, experiencing Tel Aviv’s unique blend of energy, openness, and community.
  • As the sun sets, gather for Kabbalat Shabbat on the beach, followed by a festive and meaningful Shabbat dinner.

REFLECTION & CLOSURE: MY ISRAEL STORY

  • Begin with Shabbat morning services by the sea, creating a peaceful and reflective start to the day.
  • Visit the ANU Museum of the Jewish People, exploring the diversity of Jewish identity across time and geography, and considering how Israel fits into that global story today.
  • Stop at Hostages Square, engaging with the ongoing reality of Israeli society and reflecting on collective responsibility, resilience, and hope.
  • Gather for a structured closing session, giving participants the opportunity to reflect on their journey: How has my relationship with Israel changed? What challenged me? What will I carry forward?
  • Conclude with a Havdalah ceremony and farewell dinner, celebrating the community that has formed and the journey shared.
  • Late check-out and transfer to the airport.

    • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
    • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $675 is required in order to complete the registration process.

  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
    • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
    • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
