  • Arrive at Ben-Gurion International Airport.
  • Check into the hotel.
  • Meet your J² Expert Educator who will accompany you on this journey of education and inspiration.
  • Welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Tue. Feb 11, 2025
  • Hear from journalist Haviv Rettig Gur, political correspondent and analyst for The Times of Israel.
  • Experience the dynamism of Jewish life at the ANU Museum of the Jewish People, dedicated to telling their story and representing their diversity, highlighting the creative works and cultural riches of a variety of communities in different periods of history until the present day.
  • Explore Nahalat Binyamin, Tel Aviv’s arts and crafts market, renowned for its handmade treasures, before heading to the bustling Carmel Market.
  • Tour the Magen David Adom (MDA) headquarters in Ramle, a crucial facility in MDA's mission to deliver emergency medical services, blood services, and disaster response across Israel. Wrap up the visit with a blood drive to support MDA's lifesaving efforts.

Wed. Feb 12, 2025
  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Accompanied by Michal Zur, the Greater MetroWest Federation Israel representative, visit Ofakim and Kibbutz Erez and learn about the events of October 7 and the aftermath.
  • Visit Shaar Hanegev Reform Community, located on Israel’s border with the Gaza Strip.
  • Continue to the Nova Festival site at Reim.
  • Drive to Jerusalem. Stop at the Haas Promenade for a traditional “shehehiyanu” blessing of thanksgiving.
  • Check into the hotel and debrief about the day.

  • Join morning prayers at the Hebrew Union College (HUC) synagogue in Jerusalem, a serene haven for spiritual reflection amidst the city's historic setting.
  • Engage with a leader from IRAC (Israel Religious Action Center) to delve into Israel's social justice initiatives and advocacy efforts.
  • Meet the team of Yad B’Yad (Hand in Hand) school in Jerusalem, part of a network of bilingual, multicultural educational institutions which aim to show that Jewish and Arab communities can learn and live together.
  • Track 1: FIRST-TIMERS Visit Yad Vashem, the national memorial to the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
  • Track 2: RETURN VISIT Take an in-depth tour of Yad Vashem including the recently added Book of Names, and the archives (time-permitting).

Fri. Feb 14, 2025
  • Take the cable car to the top of Masada, where Jewish rebels are believed to have made their final attempt to resist Roman invaders (c 74 CE).
  • Float into happiness on the Dead Sea.
  • Drive by Qumran, where the Dead Sea Sect established a community and the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found.
  • Return to Jerusalem.
  • Kabbalat Shabbat services at Kehillat Kol Haneshema.
  • Home Hospitality Shabbat dinner/communal Shabbat dinner with local congregants OR festive Shabbat dinner at the hotel.

  • Morning at leisure. Optional Shabbat morning services at a local synagogue.
  • Tour the newly-renovated Tower of David Museum and explore the city's history – from the time of Abraham to today.
  • Climb to the rooftops and look out over the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the golden Dome of the Rock, and the Jewish Quarter’s famous Hurva Synagogue.
  • The Jewish Quarter is both a modern neighborhood and a unique outdoor museum, displaying the ongoing connection of the Jewish people to Jerusalem from the Bible until our own times.
  • Highlights will include:
    • King Hezekiah’s “Broad Wall,” built to protect Jerusalem from invasion 2,700 years ago.
    • The Cardo, the main street of Roman-controlled Jerusalem and its Byzantine-era columns.
    • The Hurva Square, the center of modern-day life in the Jewish Quarter and the reconstructed Hurva Synagogue.
    • The panoramic view from the Jewish Quarter onto the Temple Mount, Mount Scopus, and the Mount of Olives.
  • Visit the Kotel (Western Wall), widely considered Judaism’s holiest site. We’ll discuss the wall’s historical and contemporary importance and experience its unique atmosphere.
  • Mark the end of Shabbat with a communal Havdalah ceremony overlooking the Old City.

  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Mount Herzl is Israel's central military cemetery and hosts the graves of the leaders of the nation. On our visit we'll begin to understand the human price paid by Israeli families in the Israel-Hamas War. Join the daily morning Kaddish dedicated to the memory of our fallen soldiers.
  • Visit Pantry Packers, where you'll pack food for Israel’s neediest families, supporting their monthly deliveries.
  • Explore the National Library of Israel, delving into centuries of Jewish creativity and documenting the events of October 7, 2023.
  • Plant a tree at the Jerusalem Bird Observatory.
  • Festive farewell dinner.
  • Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the US.

What to expect

  • Value Added Tax is currently not applicable to tourists visiting Israel. Should the law change, you will be notified accordingly, and VAT will be added to your final invoice.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required in order to complete the registration process.
  • For any assistance with this registration process or other trip-related queries, please email Customer Care: customercare@j2adventures.com.
  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
  • Mobility: Solidarity missions are specifically strenuous, and our visits include places that are inaccessible to people who may have mobility challenges. You should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances, often over unpaved and uneven surfaces. PLEASE NOTE: In some cases you may need to run to a shelter, if you have questions regarding this matter please speak to a J² representative.
