DAY 1
DEPARTURE & ANTICIPATION

  • Depart the U.S. on an overnight flight, filled with anticipation for a week of discovery, connection, and meaningful engagement with Israel and its people.
  • Participants are encouraged to book one of the following nonstop overnight flights from New York (JFK) to Tel Aviv (TLV):
    • El Al Flight LY8 – Depart New York (JFK) at 11:00 PM on February 13 and arrive in Tel Aviv at 4:05 PM on February 14. Recommended nonstop overnight flight.
    • Delta Flight LY4000 (operated by El Al) – Depart New York (JFK) at 11:55 PM on February 13 and arrive in Tel Aviv at 5:35 PM on February 14. Recommended nonstop overnight flight.

  • Reconnect as a group at Machane Yehuda Market, experiencing the energy of Jerusalem’s most vibrant marketplace through its diverse flavors, colors, and sounds.
  • Explore key areas of Jerusalem that illuminate the city’s political, religious, and geographic complexity, gaining a deeper understanding of its layered realities.
  • Meet with members of Roots in Gush Etzion, a unique grassroots organization where Israelis and Palestinians who live in the region come together to foster dialogue, mutual recognition, and nonviolent coexistence; hear firsthand perspectives shaped by lived experience and ongoing efforts to build trust.

INTO THE NEGEV DESERT

  • Check out of the hotel and journey south into the Negev Desert, tracing the vision of Israel’s early pioneers.
  • Visit David Ben-Gurion’s grave in Sde Boker, overlooking the dramatic Zin Valley, and reflect on his legacy and vision for the development of the Negev.
  • Continue to Mitzpe Ramon and enjoy a picnic lunch set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Ramon Crater, one of the world’s most unique geological formations.
  • Explore the Machtesh Ramon by jeep, navigating its vast desert terrain and gaining a deeper appreciation for its geological and ecological significance.

  • Check out of the hotel and begin the day with a hands-on volunteer experience with HaShomer HaChadash, an organization dedicated to supporting Israeli farmers, protecting agricultural lands, and strengthening connections between people and the land through meaningful service.
  • Continue to Sderot and have lunch on your own, experiencing daily life in a community deeply impacted by its proximity to Gaza.
  • Visit Kibbutz Kfar Aza and meet with a local resident, hearing firsthand accounts of October 7 and the realities of life on the border.
  • Continue to the Nova Music Festival site, bearing witness to the events that took place and honoring the memory of those affected.
  • Take part in a guided processing session, creating space to reflect on the day’s experiences, emotions, and conversations as a group.
  • Drive to Tel Aviv and transition into the energy of Israel’s cultural and economic center.

  • Discover the flavors of Levinsky Market through a tasting experience that reflects the diverse culinary traditions of Tel Aviv’s communities.
  • Spend free time at Nachalat Binyamin, wandering through artisan stalls, boutiques, and lively pedestrian streets.
  • Return to the hotel to prepare for Shabbat.

  • Mark the close of Shabbat with a meaningful Havdallah ceremony, creating a shared moment of reflection and transition as a group.
  • Gather for a farewell dinner, reflecting on the shared journey, experiences, and connections formed throughout the trip.
  • Group transfer to Ben Gurion Airport for your departure flight, bringing the journey to a meaningful close.

    • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on double occupancy room.
    • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $675 is required in order to complete the registration process.

  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
    • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
    • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
