DAY 4
RECLAIMING JEWISH ROOTS IN TOLEDO
Sat. Mar 13, 2027
  • Depart Madrid early for Toledo, the former imperial capital and one of medieval Spain’s most important centers of Jewish, Muslim, and Christian life.
  • Take in sweeping views of Toledo from the bridge before ascending on foot into the historic Jewish Quarter.
  • Set in the heart of Toledo’s old Jewish Quarter, Santa María la Blanca is a serene and striking 12th‑century synagogue whose whitewashed arches and elegant Mudejar design create an atmosphere of quiet beauty. Today, its forest of graceful columns and horseshoe arches stands as a poignant reminder of a once-vibrant Sephardic community.
  • Commissioned in the 14th century by Samuel ha‑Levi, El Tránsito is one of the finest examples of Castilian‑Mudejar artistry. Its soaring hall is adorned with breathtaking stucco work, geometric motifs, and flowing Hebrew inscriptions—an architectural celebration of Jewish learning and devotion at its height in medieval Toledo.
  • Break for lunch on your own in a lively public square before returning to Madrid.
  • Located in one of Madrid's most beautiful parks, The Temple of Debod is an ancient Egyptian Temple brought to Madrid. Explore the atmospheric and inspiring site, providing us with a chance to trace our Jewish stories through the ages.

CORDOBA, CRADLE OF THE GOLDEN AGE
Mon. Mar 15, 2027
  • Explore the breathtaking Mosque-Cathedral of Cordoba, a masterpiece of Andalusian architecture where a forest of red‑and‑white arches reveals centuries of shifting spiritual and cultural influence. Step into the winding lanes of the old town and Judería, where intimate courtyards, whitewashed walls, and echoes of the city’s Jewish past bring La Ciudad de las Tres Culturas vividly to life.
  • Pause at Cordoba’s Plaza Tiberias, where the statue of Moses Maimonides honors one of our greatest sages. Just steps away, visit the beautifully preserved medieval synagogue - one of only three remaining in Spain - offering a rare glimpse into the spiritual and communal life of Jewish Cordoba.
  • Break for lunch on your own.
  • Visit Casa de Sefarad, an intimate cultural center dedicated to the memory and creativity of Spain’s Sephardic Jews. Enjoy a moving musical presentation of Sephardic poetry, song, and prayer—an evocative window into a world that once flourished in Cordoba’s Judería (Jewish Quarter).

From this height, the white-washed labyrinth of the Judería and the towering Mezquita-Catedral are laid bare, allowing us to trace the river's path and visually map the history they’ve walked.

THE PEARL OF ANDALUSIA
Tue. Mar 16, 2027
  • Depart your Cordoba hotel and journey onward to Seville, a vibrant city shaped by both Renaissance grandeur and deep Arabic influence, where ancient traditions and layered histories come vividly to life. Ancient sources trace a Jewish presence here as far back as the destruction of the First Temple in 586 B.C.E., offering a powerful sense of continuity across millennia.
  • Stroll through the magnificent Plaza de España, an architectural masterpiece created for the Ibero-American Exposition of 1929, where sweeping colonnades, colorful tilework, and graceful bridges reflect Spain’s regional diversity and artistic pride.
  • Glide along the Guadalquivir River on a relaxing cruise, taking in spectacular views of Seville from the water, including the iconic Torre del Oro, the elegant Triana Bridge, and a series of hidden perspectives that reveal the city’s beauty from a unique vantage point.
  • Explore the extraordinary Alcázar Palace, the oldest royal residence still in use in Europe, where intricate Mudéjar design, lush gardens, and centuries of royal history offer a window into the artistic and cultural fusion that defines Andalusia.

  • Wander through the winding lanes of the Santa Cruz neighborhood, once the heart of Seville’s Jewish community known as La Judería, where narrow alleys, flower-filled courtyards, and quiet squares evoke the rhythms of Jewish life before 1492.
  • Settle into your hotel in Seville, with time to refresh and absorb the day’s impressions at your own pace.
  • Enjoy an evening at leisure, offering the opportunity to dine independently, explore Seville’s lively atmosphere, or simply relax and take in the spirit of this enchanting city.

  • Continue onward to Granada, the storied “Pomegranate of the Jews,” a city renowned for its rich intellectual and cultural life during the medieval period, when Jewish, Muslim, and Christian communities contributed to a remarkable era of coexistence and creativity.
