Program Itinerary
- Depart the US for your journey to Israel.
- Arrive at Ben-Gurion International Airport.
- Meet your J² Expert Educator who will accompany you on this journey of education and inspiration.
- Guided visit to the ancient city of Caesarea.
- Check into your hotel and freshen up for Shabbat.
- Shabbat Shalom. Welcome the Shabbat together as a community with Or Hadash Reform Congregation in Haifa.
- Community Shabbat dinner at the hotel or a local venue.
- Visit the Or Hadash Reform Congregation in Haifa for a dialogue with the rabbi and local congregants followed by lunch.
- Explore the Baha’i Gardens and gold-domed Shrine of the Bab.
- J² Salon Talk: A Small Country With Big Questions. Geographically, Israel is one of the smallest countries in the world. However, few landscapes have played such a formative role in human civilization. What are the foundational elements that make up the story of Israel, and what key questions does Israel contends with as it continues to evolve in a shifting regional and international reality?
- Cherish Shabbat and mark its passing (until next week) with a havdalah ceremony by the beach.
- Free time to explore Haifa on own.
- Encounter the Christian Crusaders and their Muslim rivals at Akko (Acre). Our visit will include The restored Crusaders’ Fortress.
- Lunch on own in the Akko shuk (market).
- Explore Tsfat, a center of Jewish mysticism for hundreds of years and a contemporary artists’ colony, including:
- Guided visit to the Ari, Caro or Abuhav Synagogues, each with its great stories and mystical messages.
- A stroll through the quaint Artists’ Colony, shop in the galleries and crafts shops and engage in dialogues with local artisans inspired by the messages of Kabbalah.
- Home hospitality dinner with a Druze family.
- Check out of your hotel and depart from the Galilee panhandle.
- Dialogue with Mohammed Darawshe, Director of Planning, Equality & Shared Society, at the Givat Haviva Center.
- Stop at Kibbutz Ein Hashofet, meet with members and eat lunch.
- Enter Tel Aviv, also known as “the city that never sleeps.”
- Check in to your hotel.
- Explore the Old City of Jaffa, including the flea market – Shuk Hapishpishim, and enjoy dinner on own.
- Roam through colorful Neve Zedek, one of Tel Aviv’s earliest neighborhoods.
- Walk along the Independence Trail in Tel Aviv and embark on a remarkable journey that begins with the founding of Tel Aviv in 1909 and ends with the establishment of Israel in 1948.
- Eat, drink, and learn at Levinsky Market, where we’ll sample food, sweets, and spices from all over the Mediterranean and the Middle East.
- Visit the Ayalon Institute near Rehovot and its secret ammunition factory.
- Check out of the hotel.
- Begin the morning by lending a hand in the agricultural fields of the south.
- Visit Sderot and hear from local residents about their experience on October 7 and what the process has been like to revive their city.
- Continue to the site of the Nova Music Festival and see how it has becoming a living memorial to those killed on October 7.
- Walk through the remains of a southern community with members of the community as they share the stories of this once-vibrant home. (Pending confirmation)
- Drive to Jerusalem.
- Check into the hotel.
- Early departure from Jerusalem to descend to the Dead Sea and the Judaean Desert.
- Take the cable car or hike up the Snake path to the top of Masada, where Jewish rebels are believed to have made their final attempt to resist Roman invaders (c 74 CE).
- Float into happiness on the Dead Sea where the feeling of weightlessness is great fun.
- Visit Qumran, where the Dead Sea Sect established a community and the caves where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. (Time permitting)
- Stop at Mount Scopus in Jerusalem for a traditional shehehiyanu blessing of thanksgiving.
- Visit Yad Vashem, the national memorial to the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Your guided tour will include:
- The Avenue of the Righteous Gentiles.
- The Historical Museum.
- The Sculpture and Monuments Garden and the Children's Memorial.
- Experience the sights, smells, and tastes of Jerusalem while walking through the Mahane Yehuda open-air market.
- Return to the hotel to prepare for Shabbat.
- Shabbat Shalom! Enjoy Shabbat evening with an Israeli Reform congregation and Friday night dinner with your Israeli hosts.
- Discover multiple faiths in the Old City, including the Via Dolorosa, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Visit the Western Wall and the Jewish Quarter.
- Free time in Jerusalem.
- Optional walk tour: Explore the pastoral neighborhoods of Yemin Moshe and Mishkenot Sha'ananim, where the great banker and philanthropist Sir Moses Montefiore developed the famous windmill and the artists’ colony.
- Late checkout from the hotel.
- Devote some time for reflection and sharing. Where have you been and what are you taking home?
- Mark the end of Shabbat with a communal havdalah ceremony overlooking the Old City.
- Festive farewell dinner.
- Arrive home.

What to expect
- 8 nights' accommodations. Late check out on the day of departure is included.
- 9 days of touring with a J² Expert Educator (guide), in a luxury, air-conditioned bus.
- Daily breakfast, 3 lunches & 4 dinners.
- Water on the bus.
- The J² adventures App available on the App Store & on Google Play (active 7 days before your departure and throughout your trip).
- Porterage at the hotels.
- All site entrance fees & program fees as per your final program.
- Credit card fees.
- Flights to & from Israel.
- COVID related expenses, including tests.
- Evening transportation when dinner is not included.
- Amendments to the program: In the event that any sites, programs or meals etc. are added to the program, an additional fee may be required.
- Personal extras: Items of personal nature such as laundry, wines, mineral water, beverages, coffee, tea, food other than the table d’hotel menu, passport and visa fees, insurance, and foreign port taxes, unless otherwise specified.
- Gratuities: Recommend guidelines for tipping are provided in the terms section.
- US and foreign airport taxes, Q fuel surcharge and border taxes when applicable.
- Value Added Tax is currently not applicable to tourists visiting Israel. Should the law change, you will be notified accordingly, and VAT will be added to your final invoice.

- Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
- How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required in order to complete the registration process.

- Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
- Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
- Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
- J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
- Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
- Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
- Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
- Protect yourself from fraud by being cautious and vigilant when it comes to online theft. It is crucial to note that J² adventures will never send an email requesting you to transfer funds to a new account or to redirect a payment. We will never alter our account number or issue additional payment requests without first personally speaking to you and properly identifying ourselves. If you feel uncertain about any communication (scammers often impersonate legitimate companies via e-mail or by calling), halt and contact us directly through our toll-free number listed on our website to discuss any necessary payments. Refrain from responding to suspicious emails or clicking on links or attachments unless you are completely certain of their legitimacy. By following these guidelines and staying vigilant, you can significantly reduce your risk of becoming a victim of fraud.
