- Morning departure from Newark Liberty International Airport.
- 11:30 a.m. Arrival at Benito Juárez International Airport in Mexico City. Meet your local guide and your J²expert educator, who will accompany you throughout this immersive journey into Mexican culture and Jewish life.
- Begin your exploration with a visit to the National Museum of Anthropology, one of the most important cultural institutions in Latin America. Encounter extraordinary artefacts from Mexico’s pre-Columbian civilizations, including the Aztec Sun Stone and masterpieces of indigenous artistry that tell the story of Mexico’s ancient roots.
- Continue to Chapultepec Castle, perched above the city with sweeping views. Explore its grand halls, murals, and gardens that reflect Mexico’s layered history.
- Transfer to the hotel for check-in.
- This evening, gather for a welcome dinner at the hotel with a leading voice from the Mexican Jewish community, offering an introduction to the richness, diversity, and complexity of Jewish life in Mexico today.
- This morning, discover the roots of Jewish Mexico on a thoughtfully guided walking tour led by a local community expert. Beginning in the Historic Center, trace the early footsteps of Jewish immigrants who arrived over a century ago in search of freedom and opportunity.
- Enjoy free time for lunch on your own.
- Continue with a leisurely stroll through the Zócalo, the monumental heart of Mexico City:
- Metropolitan Cathedral, the largest and oldest cathedral in Latin America
- National Palace, home to the offices of the Mexican President, the Federal Treasury, and the National Archives
- Templo Mayor, built on the site of the Aztec founding vision - today reflected in Mexico’s national symbol.
- In the afternoon, visit the Museum of Memory and Tolerance, a powerful and moving institution dedicated to preserving the memory of the Holocaust and subsequent genocides, including those in Armenia, Rwanda, the former Yugoslavia, Cambodia, and Guatemala. Through personal testimonies and historical narratives, the museum invites deep reflection on human rights, dignity, and the responsibility to remember.
- Return to the hotel.
- Evening at leisure.
- After breakfast, visit CDIJUM (Mexican Jewish Documentation and Research Center). Engage with scholars and archival materials that illuminate the migration stories and cultural development of Jewish life in Mexico.
- Continue to the La Roma / Condesa neighborhood for time at leisure and lunch on your own.
- This afternoon, visit the Centro Deportivo Israelita (CDI), a cornerstone of Jewish communal life in Mexico City. Learn about its role in fostering identity, connection, and continuity within one of the largest Jewish communities in Latin America.
- Meet with local community members for a candid and meaningful conversation about the Mexican Jewish experience - past, present, and future.
- Return to the hotel.

- Experience Mexico City through its extraordinary culinary traditions.
- Accompanied by a local chef, explore a vibrant neighborhood market renowned for its colorful atmosphere and remarkable diversity of regional ingredients. Taste freshly made tortillas, sip rich Oaxacan cacao, and sample seasonal fruits while learning how local ingredients have shaped Mexican cuisine for generations.
- Continue to the chef's kitchen for a hands-on cooking workshop, where you'll prepare a four-course meal using traditional techniques and locally sourced ingredients.
- Enjoy the delicious lunch you have created together.
- Drive to Xochimilco.
- Continue to the Dolores Olmedo Patiño Museum, where lush gardens and elegant architecture frame one of the world’s most significant collections dedicated to Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, offering rare insight into their art, relationships, creative evolution, and enduring influence on Mexico’s cultural narrative.
- Conclude the day's exploration on the waterways of Xochimilco, a UNESCO-listed cultural landscape and one of Mexico City's most iconic experiences. Step aboard a colorful trajinera and cruise through the ancient canals, sampling local flavors and enjoying live music while taking in the festive atmosphere that has made this tradition an enduring symbol of Mexico City.
- Return to the hotel and enjoy an evening at leisure.
- Depart the city for a full-day exploration of Mexico’s ancient heritage.
- Begin with a visit to the Aqueduct of Padre Tembleque, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a remarkable example of collaboration between Indigenous communities and Spanish builders.
- Continue to Teotihuacan, one of the largest ancient cities in the world. Walk along the Avenue of the Dead and take in the monumental Pyramids of the Sun and Moon.
- Enjoy a traditional lunch in a local community setting, highlighting regional cuisine and hospitality.
- Return to Mexico City in the afternoon.
- This evening, gather for a farewell dinner, reflecting on the experiences of the journey and the connections formed throughout the week.

- Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on double occupancy room.
- How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $675 is required in order to complete the registration process.

- Payments | The balance of your payment is due 120 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
- Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
- Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
- J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
- Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
- Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 120 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 119 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
- Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
- Protect yourself from fraud by being cautious and vigilant when it comes to online theft. It is crucial to note that J² adventures will never send an email requesting you to transfer funds to a new account or to redirect a payment. We will never alter our account number or issue additional payment requests without first personally speaking to you and properly identifying ourselves. If you feel uncertain about any communication (scammers often impersonate legitimate companies via e-mail or by calling), halt and contact us directly through our toll-free number listed on our website to discuss any necessary payments. Refrain from responding to suspicious emails or clicking on links or attachments unless you are completely certain of their legitimacy. By following these guidelines and staying vigilant, you can significantly reduce your risk of becoming a victim of fraud.
