DISCOVERING CASABLANCA AND A TASTE OF MOROCCO
Mon. May 10, 2027
- 9:00 a.m. Arrive at Casablanca International Airport.
- Meet your J² expert educator and local Moroccan tour guide, who will accompany us on this unforgettable experience. Begin by exploring the bustling streets of Casablanca, a city rich in history and diversity.
- We will visit a local church, the main square of the city, the site of the Casablanca conference, and Rick's cafe of Humphrey Bogart fame. We will include time to roam the Corniche, the famous seaside boardwalk of the city, where you can enjoy lunch on own by the ocean.
- Check into the hotel.
- Visit the historic Beth-El Synagogue, Casablanca’s active Jewish center, where we’ll reflect on the ongoing Jewish life in Morocco.
- Festive welcome dinner at a local restaurant. We will indulge in the exotic flavors of Moroccan cuisine, from aromatic, traditional main courses cooked in a clay vessel - tangine - to delicate pastries.

DAY 3
EXPLORING THE JEWISH LEGACY OF MOROCCO

- Check out of the hotel and begin our day with a visit to one of Morocco’s architectural marvels: The Hassan II Mosque, an awe-inspiring structure built overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. With its intricate tilework and towering minaret, it’s one of the largest and most breathtaking mosques in the world.
- Visit the Neve Shalom Jewish Day School and engage in a conversation with Rabbi Jacky Sebbag to learn about the school’s mission, educational approach, and its role in sustaining the local Jewish community.
- Hospitality lunch with a member of the local Jewish community – an intimate opportunity to hear a personal story and gain firsthand insight into Jewish life in Morocco today.
- Step into history at the Museum of the Jews of Morocco, the only Jewish museum in the Arab world. We will explore Morocco’s deep Jewish roots through artifacts, stories, and exhibits.
- Continue to Fes, a city of immense cultural and historical significance, once Morocco’s capital and a major center of Jewish scholarship.

A WALK THROUGH TIME IN FES
Wed. May 12, 2027
- Begin the day with breathtaking panoramic views of Fes and its ancient Medina from the historic Borj Sud fortress.
- Step back in time as we explore the city’s rich Jewish heritage:
- The Ibn Danan Synagogue, one of the oldest and most significant synagogues in North Africa, recently restored to its former glory.
- The El Fassiyin Synagogue, which was once repurposed as a boxing ring and a carpet factory but has now been returned to its original purpose.
- The Fes Jewish Cemetery, where we will hear the remarkable stories of the city’s revered rabbis and scholars.
- Wander through the maze-like Medina of Fes, a UNESCO World Heritage site and the world’s largest pedestrian-only urban area.
- Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing our explorations:
- The University of Al-Karaouine, the world’s oldest operating university, where Jewish and Muslim scholars once studied side by side.
- The Chouara Tannery, where the ancient art of leather dyeing is still practiced today.
- Visit the Madrasa Bou Inania, a stunning Islamic college with breathtaking mosaics and woodwork.
- Stop by a local artisan’s workshop and witness traditional craftsmanship that has been passed down for generations.
- Return to the hotel and enjoy dinner on own.

CITY OF KINGS
Thu. May 13, 2027
- Check out of the hotel.
- Depart for Rabat, Morocco’s capital:
- Walk around the walls of Rabat’s Royal Palace, the primary residence of the current king Mohammad VI.
- Visit the majestic mausoleum of Mohammad V, Morocco’s king during World War II, and hear how he helped prevent the Nazis from deporting Morocco’s Jews to the death camps of Europe.
- Visit the mausoleum of his son, Hassan II, who ruled over Morocco during the so-called “Years of Lead.”
- Make your way to the Kasbah des Oudayas, a picturesque hilltop fortress offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the city below.
- Check into the hotel and engage in a meaningful dialogue with a young leader from Association Mimouna, a Muslim organization dedicated to preserving Morocco’s Jewish heritage and strengthening Jewish-Muslim relations.
- Dinner at leisure in Rabat.

THE ROAD TO MARRAKECH

- Start the day with a conversation with Einat Levi, an entrepreneur and researcher specializing in Morocco and its relations with Israel.
- Check out of the hotel and drive to Marrakech.
- Begin your visit in Marrakech with a panoramic tour of the city.
- Discover Djemaa El Fna Square and enjoy the marketplace’s snake-charmers, street vendors, musicians, storytellers, and acrobats.
- Check into the hotel with time to freshen up and prepare for Shabbat.
- Kabbalat Shabbat services at the Beth El Synagogue, where we will celebrate Shabbat with the local Jewish community. Shabbat Shalom.
- Enjoy a warm and welcoming Shabbat dinner at a local home, sharing stories, laughter, and delicious Moroccan dishes.

JOURNEY INTO THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS AND BERBER HOSPITALITY

- Begin the day with a scenic drive through the lush Sidi Abdellah Ghiat and Oued Maleh valleys, heading toward the majestic Atlas Mountains.
- Continue to a traditional Berber village nestled in the mountains, where you will be welcomed by the village chief and local musicians, offering you a warm taste of Berber hospitality.
- Enjoy a home-cooked lunch in the village, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, while learning about Berber culture and traditions from the chief.
- Visit a local school to interact with students and see the educational practices of the region.
- Participate in a bread-making workshop, gaining hands-on experience with traditional Berber baking techniques.
- Return to Marrakesh.
- Come together for a communal havdalah ceremony, marking the end of Shabbat in a beautiful and reflective moment.

- Participate in an interactive Moroccan cooking class, where you will learn to prepare a traditional tagine.

- Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
- How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $675 is required in order to complete the registration process.

- Payments | The balance of your payment is due 120 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
- Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
- Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
- J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
- Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
- Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 119 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
- Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
