  • Meet your J² Expert Educator who will accompany you on this journey of education and inspiration.
  • Stop at the Jaffa Lookout for an introduction to Tel Aviv and to our journey in Israel.
  • Check into your hotel.
  • Orientation: Look back to October 7 and toward the future with your Expert Educator.
  • Dinner & Discussion with Professor Reuven Hazan of the Political Science Department at Hebrew University for an introduction into Israel’s turbulent political scene as it unfolds in the shadow of the Israel-Hamas War.

  • Project 24 – The New Kibbutz Reim – tells the story of communities displaced by the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023. Meet members of Kibbutz Re'im who are working to sustain the community and provide meaningful outlets for youth and adults, all while keeping the dream of returning home alive.
  • Bikur Holim – Visiting the Sick – is a fundamental Jewish ethical practice. At this time in Israel, Bikur Holim is more important than ever. Visit an Israeli medical facility and extend your hand to the ill, the injured, and the healing.
  • Explore Nahalat Binyamin, Tel Aviv’s arts and crafts market and the Carmel Market. See how Tel Aviv prepares for Shabbat.
  • Return to the hotel to freshen up before Shabbat.
  • Kabbalat Shabbat services at Kehillat Yozma in Modi’in, led by Rabbi Nir Barkin.
  • Home Hospitality Shabbat dinner/communal Shabbat dinner with local congregants.

  • Experience the dynamism of Jewish life at the ANU Museum of the Jewish People, dedicated to telling their story and representing their diversity, highlighting the creative works and cultural riches of a variety of communities in different periods of history until the present day. Visit the special exhibition dedicated to October 7.
  • Meet Dr. Oded Leshem whose research on the cultural-social concept of "hope" is relevant today more than ever. Oded will explore interpretations and examples of hope as a philosophical and social phenomenon with a special emphasis on Israel and the Jewish world today. Where can we look for hope in tough times?
  • Meet with families of the Hostages Forum. What has been achieved? What more can be done? Hostages Square has become a national center for the struggle for the hostages held by Hamas.
  • Hostages Square has become a national center for the struggle for the return of the hostage. Participate in a Havdalah ceremony at the Square with members of the Reform community as well as family members of the kidnapped. Show your support and express your solidarity with all of Israel and ask what can be done to help.

Sun. Jun 16, 2024
  • Join the volunteer organization Leket Israel and pick fruits and vegetables for those in need.
  • Drive south to the Gaza Envelope.
  • Visit Sderot, located on Israel’s border with the Gaza, and see the reality on the ground and have lunch on own at one of the local businesses.
  • Meet with a kibbutz resident who will walk you through the kibbutz to share a day burnt into our memories and discuss its impact on the community.
  • Head to the site of the Nova Festival near Kibbutz Re'im.
  • Return to the hotel and debrief.

Mon. Jun 17, 2024
  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Mount Herzl is Israel's central military cemetery and hosts the graves of the leaders of the nation. Over the last several months, the recently fallen have joined this sacred place. Visit Mount Herzl and contend with the human price paid by Israeli families and the country in the Israel-Hamas War.
  • Meet with members of the Parents' Circle – Families Forum (PCFF), the Israeli/Palestinian Bereaved Families for Peace.
  • Visit the HUC and meet with Jeremy Leigh.
  • Spend time with a leader from IRAC (Religious Action Center) to learn about social justice initiatives in Israel.
  • What Lifts Us Up: Finish your visit at the Kotel (Western Wall) and join together for a communal prayer.
  • Festive farewell dinner.
  • Group transfer to Ben-Gurion International Airport and check in for your flight.

What to expect

  • US and foreign airport taxes, Q fuel surcharge and border taxes when applicable.
  • Value Added Tax is currently not applicable to tourists visiting Israel. Should the law change, you will be notified accordingly, and VAT will be added to your final invoice.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required in order to complete the registration process.
  • For any assistance with this registration process or other trip-related queries, please email Customer Care: customercare@j2adventures.com.
  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due on 29 May, 2024, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
  • Mobility: Solidarity missions are specifically strenuous, and our visits include places that are inaccessible to people who may have mobility challenges. You should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances, often over unpaved and uneven surfaces. PLEASE NOTE: In some cases you may need to run to a shelter, if you have questions regarding this matter please speak to a J² representative.
