Sat. Oct 25, 2025
  • Depart the hotel for a visit to the Pena Palace grounds and its surrounding Pena Park.
  • Excursion to the city of Sintra, the resort town of Portugal kings, perched high in the mountains. The town’s picturesque romantic monuments and mountainous vistas serve as the backdrop for unparalleled architectural and natural beauty.
  • Lunch on own and free time to explore the tiny winding streets of Sintra.
  • We will visit a unique wine shop in Sintra, situated on a village farm where wine production ceased 100 years ago. The current owners, with support from Portuguese and French experts, have revitalized the vineyards by analyzing the local soil and climate, modernizing the production process. Today, they produce high-quality red and white wines using traditional methods.
  • Meet a producer of Colares wine followed by tasting at the Colares cooperative winery. Nestled between Sintra mountain and the Atlantic Ocean, the Colares region has been an Appellation Origin since 1908, making it the westernmost and smallest still-wine producing region in mainland Europe. Founded in 1931, Adega Regional de Colares is one of the few places where you can buy authentic Colares wines.
  • Continue your route to Cabo da Roca. Overlooking the deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean, stand at the western-most extent of mainland Portugal and continental Europe.
  • Devote time to mark the end of Shabbat with a group havdalah and reflection.
