WELCOME TO MADRID
Fri. Jan 16, 2026
- Arrive at Madrid International Airport and transfer to the city center.
- Start at Plaza de España, which features a monument to Spanish novelist, poet, and playwright Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. Orientation dialogue with your J² Expert Educator, including an overview of your journey.
- Visit the Beth Yaacov Synagogue and the Museum of the Jewish Community of Madrid. This was the first synagogue built in Madrid since the Spanish Inquisition. Take a journey through the contemporary history of the presence of Jewish life in Madrid, from its beginnings to the present day, through photographs, images and graphic elements, and ritual objects.
- Lunch at a kosher restaurant.
- Follow the footsteps of the Jewish community of Madrid, from the 9th-century old judería to the 14th-century new juderia. Along the way, we will also pass important monuments of Spanish history:

- Stop at Plaza de Oriente, which used to be the Old Juderia cemetery.
- Visit the Royal Palace.
- Pass by the Teatro Real.
- View of the Catedral de la Almudena.

SHABBAT IN MADRID

- Shabbat morning learning session.
- Visit the Reina Sofia Museum, which houses Picasso’s famed Guernica, among other great masterpieces.
- Unleash your tastebuds on an exhilarating food tasting tour of Madrid's finest tapas, where you'll savor a delightful array of flavors and discover the city's culinary treasures!
- Discover the beauty of Madrid with a panoramic tour of the city, including stops at:

- Puerta Del Sol, the center of the city.
- Plaza Mayor, site of multiple "acts of faith"- the infamous "auto-da-fé" of the Spanish Inquisition.
- The San Miguel Market.
- Walk back to the hotel.
- Come together to mark the end of Shabbat followed by early dinner at the hotel.
- Attend a soccer game at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid, home to the famous Real Madrid football team (pending game schedule - cost of the ticket not included).

DAY 4
TOLEDO AND TWO THOUSAND YEARS OF CONQUEST AND CULTURE

- Depart for Toledo, which remains much as it was in the 16th century, and begin with a panoramic tour of the city.
- Tour through the Jewish Quarter, including the Samuel Halevi Abulafia Synagogue, which was turned into a church known as Nuestra Señora del Tránisito, the Sephardic Museum, and the Grand Synagogue (renamed the Santa Maria La Blanca Church following 1492).
- Visit the Church of Santo Tomé which was constructed on the site of an 11th-century mosque.
- Soar over the River Tagus in Toledo on an exhilarating zipline ride, offering breathtaking views of the city. This thrilling adventure is designed to be safe and fun for all ages, ensuring a memorable experience for the whole family. It's the perfect blend of excitement and sightseeing!
- Farewell dinner followed by a flamenco show.

DAY 5
UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

- Check out of the hotel.
- On our way to the airport, stop at the Garden of the Three Cultures, symbolizing the coexistence in Spain of the Hebrew, Christian, and Muslim civilizations. Close to the gardens is also the Monument to the Victims of the Holocaust. Share thoughts and feelings before returning home.
- Return flight to the US.

- Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
- How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required in order to complete the registration process.

- Payments | The balance of your payment is due 120 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
- Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
- Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
- J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
- Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
- Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 120 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 119 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
- Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
