DAY 1
WELCOME TO THE HEART OF JEWISH MEXICO
Sun. Feb 21, 2027
  • Depart from JFK and arrive in Mexico City. Upon arrival, enjoy a private transfer to your hotel, ensuring a smooth and seamless start to your journey.
  • 3:30 p.m. Meet in the hotel lobby, where your first adventure begins. Embark on a guided exploration of the renowned National Museum of Anthropology. Dive into Mexico’s rich past as you explore its world-class exhibits and gain insight into the civilizations that shaped the country’s cultural identity.
  • Conclude the day with an intimate private welcome dinner. You will be joined by Dr. Daniel Fainstein, esteemed Dean of Jewish Studies at the Hebraic University, who will offer an engaging keynote on the Mexican Jewish experience, shaping our understanding of identity, education, and cultural continuity.

  • Engage at CDIJUM (the Mexican Jewish Documentation and Research Center) with researchers and Director General Tessy Schlosser. Participate in a dynamic dialogue that brings to life personal testimonies, archival treasures, and the rich story of Jewish integration and cultural contributions in Mexico.
  • Travel along Paseo de la Reforma, Mexico City’s iconic boulevard. Pass symbols of modern Mexico - including the Angel of Independence and the Hemiciclo a Juárez - while reflecting on the nation’s evolving identity.
  • Stand in the vast Zócalo, the historic heart of Mexico City, where Aztec temples, Spanish colonialism, and modern governance intersect in layers of history.
  • Explore the Templo Mayor, the spiritual center of the ancient Aztec capital. Discover how indigenous heritage continues to shape Mexico’s identity today.
  • Engage in an enriching conversation with historian Mónica Unikel, exploring the dynamic evolution of Jewish life and its cultural contributions to Mexico City.
  • Walk through the historic Jewish quarter, tracing the path of early Ashkenazi immigrants. Visit the Justo Sierra Synagogue, where organized Jewish communal life in Mexico first flourished.
  • Continue to the Monte Sinai Synagogue, built by early Sephardic immigrants, and learn how these communities shaped enduring religious and cultural traditions.

  • Experience the vibrant flavors of Mexico City during a guided tasting tour through a bustling local market. Sample regional specialties while engaging with local vendors and gaining insight into the culinary traditions that shape Mexico’s rich cultural identity.
  • In the late afternoon, visit Centro Deportivo Israelita (CDI) at its vibrant peak. Witness the energy of thousands gathering for sports, culture, and community, offering a window into the thriving heartbeat of Jewish life in Mexico.
  • Enjoy dinner and dialogue with Dr. Enrique Presburger. Bridging finance, academia, and communal leadership, Dr. Presburger will share insights into modern Jewish identity and the continued role of leadership in shaping Mexico’s future.

ANCIENT WONDERS & MODERN MEXICAN IDENTITY

  • Journey just outside Mexico City to Teotihuacan, the awe-inspiring UNESCO World Heritage Site. Walk the Avenue of the Dead and stand before the colossal Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon. Gain a deeper understanding of this ancient metropolis - once home to more than 100,000 inhabitants - and its sophisticated urban design, spiritual significance, and enduring mystery.
  • Savor lunch at a local restaurant, where regional flavors come alive, offering an authentic culinary pause amidst your exploration.
  • Discover the Museum of Modern Art, where works by leading Mexican artists - including Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera - provide a powerful lens into the country’s artistic evolution, political expression, and modern identity.

DAY 5
FAREWELL & DEPARTURE

  • Choose Your Own Mexico City: Enjoy a final morning in Mexico City before airport transfers begin. Participants may choose between independent exploration or joining an optional guided walking program for those who prefer to remain with a guide.
  • Option 1 - Time at Leisure: Explore Mexico City at your own pace based on your personal interests. A curated list of recommendations will be provided in advance, along with guidance regarding venues that require advance reservations. Assistance with logistics and ticket arrangements will be available where feasible.
  • Option 2 - Optional Guided Walking Program: Participants who prefer to continue exploring with the group may join an optional guided walking experience (no bus required). The program will offer additional opportunities to engage with the culture, history, architecture, and daily life of Mexico City while accompanied by a local guide. Final details and sign-up information will be provided closer to departure.
  • 4 Group transfers will be provided to the airport for your return flights home, concluding your meaningful journey through Mexico City’s history, culture, and vibrant Jewish community.

    • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on double occupancy room.
    • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $750 is required in order to complete the registration process.

  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due by October 15, 2026. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
    • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made until October 15, 2026 incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made between October 16, 2026 and January 6, 2027 incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Any cancelations made from January 7, 2027 incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
    • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
