  • Step back in time with a visit to the Ayalon Institute near Rehovot, where you’ll uncover the secret history of Israel’s ammunition factory from the early days of the state.
  • Israel on a Plate: Unleash your inner chef at The Cooking Experience, a hands-on cooking workshop where you’ll learn to prepare traditional Israeli dishes. The setting is an Ottoman-era manor house with Italian marble pillars, and the delicious meal you create will be a perfect end to the day.

  • Visit the Salad Trail, a hands-on agricultural experience in the northern Negev, showcasing cutting-edge environmental technologies and sustainable farming practices.

HEAVENLY AND EARTHLY JERUSALEM

  • Learn about Israeli agriculture and its role in the country’s development as you volunteer with Leket, Israel's food bank, helping feed the nation’s vulnerable populations.
  • Celebrate your first view of Jerusalem with a special ceremony and the traditional Shehechiyanu blessing, marveling at the Old City walls.
  • Pay tribute at Mount Herzl, Israel’s military cemetery, and reflect on the human cost of conflict in Israel’s modern history.
  • Join Professor Reuven Hazan from Hebrew University for an engaging lecture on Israel’s political landscape (while a separate activity will be provided for younger kids).

DAY 5
THE POWER OF MEMORY

  • Visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust memorial, and reflect on the history of the Jewish people with a guided tour that includes the Children’s Memorial and the Avenue of the Righteous.
  • Children’s program: Enjoy a visit to the Bloomfield Science Museum, with interactive exhibits that inspire curiosity and creativity.
  • Icebreakers with teens from NOAM, the Masorti youth movement, who will join you in baking challot and packing up Shabbat goodies for soldiers.
  • Kabbalat Shabbat services (location TBA).
  • Enjoy Shabbat dinner as a community at the hotel.

DAY 6
SHABBAT IN JERUSALEM

  • Attend Shabbat morning services at a local synagogue.
  • Optional: Afternoon walking tours:
    • The Old City Ramparts: Take a stroll along the ancient outer walls, offering breathtaking views of the Old City’s diverse quarters.
    • A Mountain Holy to Many: Visit Mount Zion, home to the Upper Room, the site of the Last Supper, and King David’s Tomb, exploring the complexities of interfaith connections.
  • Lunch at the hotel.
  • Mark the end of Shabbat with a communal Havdalah ceremony overlooking the Old City.

THE DEAD SEA EXPERIENCE

  • Hike or take the cable car up Masada, where you’ll learn about the ancient fortress and the dramatic history behind this UNESCO World Heritage site.

  • Enjoy a relaxing float in the Dead Sea, the lowest point on Earth, and take in the unique mineral-rich mud.
  • Return to Jerusalem.
  • Engage in a political discussion with journalist Haviv Rettig Gur from The Times of Israel, while a separate activity will be arranged for younger participants.

DAY 8
THE LAYERS OF JERUSALEM
Mon. Dec 28, 2026
  • Enter the Old City of Jerusalem, where centuries of history come alive.
  • Participate in a meaningful B'nei Mitzvah ceremony at the Huldah Gates, once the entrance to the Temple Mount.
  • Explore the Jerusalem Archaeological Park, including the Davidson Center and Robinson’s Arch, to witness the city’s ancient past firsthand.
  • Enjoy free time to wander the Jewish Quarter and shop at Hurva Square, the beating heart of the area.
  • A Thread of Love: Help disabled children celebrate their B'nei Mitzvah through a Tikkun Olam activity with the Masorti (Conservative) Movement in Israel. We’ll learn how to tie tzitzit (tassles) which will be thread into the talitot (prayer shawls) worn by young Jews with disabilities as they are called to the Torah. We’ll also hear about the Masorti movement’s inspiring education and Jewish enrichment programs for the disabled and participate in an interactive workshop about living with limitations.
  • We’re dancing in the streets! Celebrate a new age for the Jewish people. Join Guru Zuzu – on a magical mystery tour of Jerusalem's Mamila Boulevard – a combination of story, music, and dance. Get into a party mood.
  • Special B'nei Mitzvah dinner and celebration party to mark a memorable milestone.

DIGGING DEEP INTO ISRAEL'S HERITAGE

  • Explore the Beit Guvrin Caves in a hands-on archaeological dig, where families of all ages can uncover Israel’s ancient past together.
  • Experience the sights, sounds, and smells of Jerusalem’s Mahane Yehuda market as you wander its vibrant stalls.
  • Help pack food for Israel’s most vulnerable at Pantry Packers, engaging in an important act of Tikkun Olam.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required in order to complete the registration process.

  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
  • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
  • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
  • This journey includes walking tours, cultural site visits, and hotel stays that may involve uneven terrain, stairs, and longer distances on foot. While we do our best to accommodate a range of mobility levels, a moderate level of physical fitness is recommended to fully enjoy the experience.
