DAY 3
THE FIRST HEBREW CITY

  • Stop at the Jaffa lookout to understand the development of Jaffa-Tel Aviv from ancient times until today.
  • Walk along Tel Aviv's Independence Trail. Embark on a remarkable journey that begins with the founding of Tel Aviv in 1909 and ends with the establishment of Israel in 1948.
  • Join a street artist on Tel Aviv’s alternative scene for an urban adventure and graffiti tour.
  • Visit the Palmach Museum. Through the interactive exhibition, meet the young men and women who fought for the creation of the State of Israel.
  • Hit the beach for a swim, for a cold drink, and enjoy a chance to people watch along the beach promenade.
  • Return to the hotel. Enjoy the many choices available in Tel Aviv for a night on the town.

DAY 4
TO THE NORTH

  • Check out from your hotel in Tel Aviv and depart for Israel's Galilee region.
  • Welcome to the capital of Jewish mysticism. Tsfat - with its medieval synagogues and modern art galleries. Learn about the development of Jewish mysticism while touring the streets and alleys of the city.
  • Explore Rosh Pina, one of the earliest Zionist agricultural settlements, now a village and artists’ colony.
  • Visit the Hula Nature Reserve, home to thousands of storks, cranes, pelicans, and flamingos. Enjoy bike-riding and golf-carting.
  • Check in at your hotel.
  • Enjoy the pool and a walk around the hotel grounds before dinner.

A GALILEE ADVENTURE

  • Ascend from the valley to the Golan Heights to explore stories of settlement, and security, and to take in the beautiful landscapes.
  • We'll gaze across the Golan and into Syria from the top of Mount Bental and gain powerful insights into Israel's geopolitical and security situation.
  • Go for a jeep tour of the Golan Heights.
  • For Adults: Visit the Odem Mountain Winery at the foot of Mt. Hermon on the Golan Heights for wine tasting.
  • For Kids & Youth: Jewish tradition calls on us to act ethically and sensitively to the animals who have been abused and to educate all of us about our treatment of our fellow creatures. Take a fascinating tour of the Odem Freedom Farm, and learn about the world of animals in an interactive way.
  • Raft or kayak down the Jordan River.
  • Dinner with your partnership region around the Lake Kinneret.
  • Return to the hotel.

ON THE ROAD TO ZION

  • Check out from your hotel. Depart the Galilee region and travel south towards Jerusalem.
  • Drive the Trans-Israel Highway and see the Security Barrier.
  • Relive ancient times at the Biblical Landscape reserve, Neot Kedumim with:
    • Sheep and goat herding.
    • Tree-planting ceremony.
  • Enter Jerusalem and stop at the Haas Promenade for a traditional “shehechiyanu” blessing of thanksgiving.
  • Check into the hotel.
  • Shabbat Shalom. Experience a musical Kabbalat Shabbat at the First Train Station.

    Kabbalat Shabbat services at Kehillat Kol Haneshema and dinner with the community. (pending confirmation).

SHABBAT IN JERUSALEM

  • Option 1:
    • Shabbat Shalom. Join Congregation Kehillat Zion and Rabbi Tamar Elad Appelbaum for a special Shabbat morning service.
  • Option 2 :
    • Explore the pastoral neighborhoods of Yemin Moshe and Mishkenot Sha'ananim, where the great banker and philanthropist Sir Moses Montefiore developed the famous windmill and the artists’ colony.
  • Tour Jerusalem's Old City and the Jewish Quarter.
  • Climb to the rooftops and look out over the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the golden Dome of the Rock, and the Jewish Quarter’s famous Hurva Synagogue.
  • The Cardo, the main street of Roman-controlled Jerusalem and its Byzantine-era columns.
  • Hurva Square, the center of modern-day life in the Jewish Quarter.
  • Mark the end of Shabbat with a communal Havdalah ceremony overlooking the Old City.
  • Enjoy a free evening in Jerusalem and experience the vibrant atmosphere of the Ben Yehuda Pedestrian Mall or Emek Refaim Street in the German Colony.

DAY 8
DEAD SEA BASIN
Sun. Jun 22, 2025
  • Travel to the Judaean Desert and the Dead Sea Valley.
  • Take the cable car to the top of Masada, where Jewish rebels are believed to have made their final attempt to resist Roman invaders (c 74 CE).
  • Walk the oasis of Ein Gedi and visit the stunning ancient synagogue whose mosaic floor presents a riddle about the secrets of this wealthy and ancient desert town.
  • Float into happiness on the Dead Sea where the feeling of weightlessness is great fun.
  • Stop at Mount Scopus to see the dramatic view onto both the desert and the Jerusalem vista including the Old City and the Temple Mount.
  • Return to Jerusalem and the hotel for a chance to freshen up.
  • Enjoy a free evening in Jerusalem along Emek Refaim Street in the German Colony.

DAY 9
YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND TOMORROW IN THE HOLY CITY
Mon. Jun 23, 2025
  • Explore the City of David, the historic cradle of Jerusalem. Our visit will include:
    • Archaeological discoveries illustrating how the wealthy and powerful lived in ancient Jerusalem.
    • The Gihon Spring, the source of Jerusalem’s water.
    • Wade through the 2,700-year-old water tunnels (with optional dry exit).
    • Visit a newly opened secret tunnel used by Jews rebelling against Rome during the Second Temple period. Enjoy an outdoor cinematic experience at Hallelujah, a nighttime presentation of the City of David Museum, projected against the walls and ruins of the Old City itself.
  • Visit the Kotel (Western Wall), widely considered Judaism’s holiest site. We’ll discuss the wall’s historical and contemporary importance and experience its unique atmosphere.
  • Travel from Jerusalem to the Etzion Bloc in the Southern area of the West Bank known as Judaea. Your tour educator will provide an overview of the landscape and events that impact on the news as it unfolds.
  • Meet with Shorashim (Roots), a program bringing West Bank Palestinians and their Jewish neighbors together despite their fears and suspicions.
  • Watch the Night Spectacular at the Tower of David Museum, a cinematic celebration of sight and sound depicting the story of Jerusalem.

DAY 10
MEMORIES THAT WALK WITH US

  • Visit Yad Vashem, the national memorial to the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust. Your guided tour will include:
    • The Historical Museum.
    • The Avenue of the Righteous.
    • The Sculpture Garden.
  • Visit Mount Herzl, Israel’s national military cemetery. Our walk on this sacred ground will include the Tomb of Theodore Herzl, the Plots of the Nation's Leaders, and select areas of the military cemetery.
  • Experience the sights, smells, and tastes of Jerusalem while walking through the Mahane Yehuda open-air market.
  • Return to the hotel to prepare for your flight.
  • Late check of the hotel.
  • Devote time to a group reflection and sharing session. What did I learn during this journey? What am I taking home from this journey?
  • Festive farewell dinner.
  • Depart from Israel to the United States. Travel safely and return soon.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required in order to complete the registration process.

  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
  • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
  • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
