BUENOS AIRES UNVEILED: HISTORY, IDENTITY & FIRST IMPRESSIONS

  • Arrive this morning in Buenos Aires, where European elegance meets Latin American passion. Transfer to your hotel.
  • 12:00 p.m. Gather at the hotel to meet your J² Expert Educator and local guide, who will accompany you throughout this immersive journey.
  • Begin with an introduction to Puerto Madero, one of the most ambitious urban renewal projects in Buenos Aires. Once the city’s port docks, the area has been transformed into a vibrant district of modern offices, residences, and cultural spaces. Enjoy a 20-minute premium boat navigation offering a unique perspective of the city from the water.
  • Continue to La Boca and Caminito Street, a colorful and lively neighborhood known for its brightly painted houses, tango dancers, and street performers - an evocative reflection of Buenos Aires’ immigrant heritage.
  • Proceed to an introductory walking tour of the historic heart of the city:
    • Plaza de Mayo, the political and historical center of Buenos Aires
    • The iconic Casa Rosada, Argentina’s presidential palace
    • The Metropolitan Cathedral and Cabildo, architectural landmarks central to Argentina’s colonial and independence history

ROOTS, RESILIENCE & RESPONSIBILITY: JEWISH LIFE IN BUENOS AIRES

  • Tour the Buenos Aires Holocaust Museum with Executive Directors Jonathan Karszenbaum and Fabiana Mindlin, followed by an intimate conversation with a Holocaust survivor.
  • Visit the historic Libertad Synagogue and Jewish Museum, home to significant artifacts documenting the evolution of Argentina’s Jewish community.
  • Walk through the Once District, a vibrant Jewish neighborhood featuring synagogues, Jewish theaters, seminaries, and communal institutions.
  • Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Visit the AMIA Memorial, honoring the victims of the 1994 terrorist attack, followed by a private conversation with Sergio Widder, Regional Director of the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee, offering candid insight into Jewish life and security in Latin America today.
  • Meet with Israeli Shlichim of The Jewish Agency for Israel (JAFI) for an intimate conversation about their role as living bridges between Israel and Argentine Jewry. Learn how these Israel-based emissaries work within schools, synagogues, youth movements, and communal institutions to strengthen Jewish identity, foster people-to-people connections with Israel, and shape the next generation of Jewish leadership in Buenos Aires.

  • In the evening, enjoy “The Argentine Experience” - a hands-on cultural event featuring empanada-making, tastings of Argentina’s finest wines, and insights into local culinary and cultural traditions.

  • Meet with the Israeli Ambassador to Argentina for an exclusive briefing on Argentina–Israel relations and regional dynamics.
  • Visit ORT Argentina, one of the most distinguished Jewish educational institutions in Latin America. Founded in 1936, ORT Argentina serves thousands of students across multiple campuses in Buenos Aires and Tigre, combining rigorous academic and technological learning with Jewish experience and identity. At ORT you will meet faculty and students to gain insight into how the institution fosters leadership, innovation, and community engagement through its comprehensive educational model.
  • Explore Le Dor Va Dor, a Jewish senior residence, and meet with representatives of the JDC to learn about their essential work supporting vulnerable populations.
  • Visit the Memorial Park for the Victims of State Terrorism, honoring those who were detained, disappeared, and murdered during Argentina’s military dictatorship (1969–1983).
  • Enjoy a late lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Transfer to the airport for your flight to Puerto Iguazú.

  • Board a gas-powered ecological train to the Upper Falls circuit for dramatic views of Devil’s Throat, one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world.

  • Continue exploring the Upper and Lower Circuits of Iguazú National Park, experiencing lush jungle landscapes, diverse wildlife, and breathtaking waterfalls.

  • Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
  • Meet Wally Liebhaber, Director of Malka, a Jewish youth initiative fostering identity, leadership, and community engagement.
  • Check in at the hotel and prepare for Shabbat.
  • Celebrate Kabbalat Shabbat at Amijai Synagogue, led by Rabbi Alejandro Avruj, in a warm and inclusive communal setting.

    • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
    • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required in order to complete the registration process.

  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 120 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
    • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 120 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 119 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
    • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
