DAY 1
JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME

A TASTE OF MOROCCO
Mon. Apr 20, 2026
  • Arrive at Casablanca International Airport.
  • Transfer to the hotel (Rooms available for check-in from 3:00 p.m.).
  • Optional afternoon inspection of hotels in Casablanca.
  • 5:00 Gather in the hotel lobby, meet your J² Expert Educator and local Moroccan tour guide, who will accompany us on this unforgettable experience, and begin exploring the bustling streets of Casablanca, a city rich in history and diversity.
  • Visit the historic Beth-El Synagogue, Casablanca’s active Jewish center, where we’ll reflect on the resilience of Jewish life in Morocco.
  • Festive welcome dinner at a local restaurant, where we’ll indulge in the exotic flavors of Moroccan cuisine, from aromatic tagines to delicate pastries.

DAY 3
JDC'S WORK IN MOROCCO

  • Check out of the hotel and begin our day with a visit to one of Morocco’s architectural marvels: The Hassan II Mosque, an awe-inspiring structure built over the Atlantic Ocean. With its intricate tilework and towering minaret, it’s one of the largest and most breathtaking mosques in the world.
  • Meet with JDC staff and agency members to gain a firsthand understanding of their vital work and the profound impact they have on the daily lives of the most vulnerable members of the local Jewish community.
  • Hospitality lunch with a member of the local Jewish community – an intimate opportunity to hear her personal story and gain firsthand insight into Jewish life in Morocco today.
  • Visit the JDC-supported Neve Shalom Jewish Day School and engage in a conversation with Rabbi Jacky Sebbag to learn about the school’s mission, educational approach, and its role in sustaining the local Jewish community.
  • Step into history at the Museum of the Jews of Morocco, the only Jewish museum in the Arab world. During the visit, you’ll have the opportunity to meet with the museum's curator, Zhor Rehihil, who will share insights into the exhibits and the significance of preserving this important heritage.
  • Drive to Rabat, Morocco’s elegant capital city.
  • Check into your hotel.
  • Sharing a Moroccan tea with special guests: Einat Levi, an entrepreneur and researcher specializing in Morocco and its relations with Israel, and/or David Toledano, President of the Jewish Community of Rabat and a close connection to the King of Morocco.
  • Evening at leisure for dinner on own.

DAY 4
RABAT: MOROCCO’S CAPITAL & CULTURAL HUB

  • Enjoy a meaningful dialogue with young leaders from Association Mimouna, a Muslim organization dedicated to preserving Jewish heritage in Morocco and promoting Jewish-Muslim friendship.
  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Discover Morocco's capital:
    • Walk around the walls of Rabat’s Royal Palace, the primary residence of the current king Mohammad VI.
    • Visit the majestic mausoleum of Mohammad V, Morocco’s king during World War II, and hear how he helped prevent the Nazis from deporting Morocco’s Jews to the death camps of Europe.
    • Continue to the mausoleum of his son, Hassan II, who ruled over Morocco during the so-called “Years of Lead.”
  • Free time for lunch on own.
  • Depart Rabat and drive to Marrakech, the city of vibrant colors, exotic souks, and legendary history.
  • Check into the hotel.
  • Evening tour to Djemaa El Fna Square, experiencing the lively atmosphere of snake charmers, musicians, street vendors, and entertainers that make Marrakech so unique.
  • Participate in an interactive Moroccan cooking class, where you will learn to prepare a traditional tagine.
  • Enjoy the fruits of your labor during dinner, savoring the flavors of your freshly cooked Moroccan meal.

DAY 5
JOURNEY INTO THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS AND BERBER HOSPITALITY
Thu. Apr 23, 2026
  • Begin the day with a scenic drive through the lush Sidi Abdellah Ghiat and Oued Maleh valleys, heading toward the majestic Atlas Mountains.
  • Stop at the grave of Rabbi Shlomo BelHench, a revered Jewish saint known as the “Son of the Snake,” and hear the legends surrounding his life and legacy.
  • Continue to a traditional Berber village nestled in the mountains, where you will be welcomed by the village chief and local musicians, offering you a warm taste of Berber hospitality.
  • Enjoy a home-cooked lunch in the village, with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, while learning about Berber culture and traditions from the chief.
  • Visit a local school to interact with students and see the educational practices of the region.
  • Participate in a bread-making workshop, gaining hands-on experience with traditional Berber baking techniques.
  • Return to Marrakech after a stunning day in the Atlas Mountains.

DAY 6
JEWISH LIFE IN MARRAKECH
Fri. Apr 24, 2026
  • Dialogue on the role of the Imam in Moroccan society, facilitated by a professor of English and a local Imam. This session will provide insight into the unique role of the Imam in Moroccan culture and the differences in Islamic practices in Morocco compared to other regions.
  • Wander through the Mellah, the historic Jewish quarter of Marrakech, filled with old synagogues and Jewish heritage sites.
  • Visit the Slat el Azama Synagogue, a still-active place of worship that holds deep historical significance for the local Jewish community.
  • Explore the Jewish Cemetery, where many of Morocco’s most prominent Jewish figures are laid to rest.
  • Time permitting: hotels inspection.
  • Kabbalat Shabbat services at the Beth El Synagogue, where we will celebrate Shabbat with the local Jewish community.
  • Enjoy a warm and welcoming Shabbat dinner at a local home, sharing stories, laughter, and delicious Moroccan dishes.
  • Walk back to the hotel.

SHABBAT IN THE RED CITY

  • Free morning to explore Marrakech at your leisure or indulge in a relaxing experience at one of the city's renowned hammams.
  • Shabbat lunch at the hotel.
  • Begin your afternoon with a guided walking tour of the Medina of Marrakech, the vibrant heart of the city, filled with markets, historical sites, and narrow streets.
  • Visit the Dar El Bacha Palace, an architectural marvel showcasing the splendor of Morocco’s royal history.
  • Explore the Madrasa Ben Youssef, one of Morocco’s most beautiful historical sites, a former theological school known for its intricate tilework and stunning design.
  • Come together for a communal havdalah ceremony, marking the end of Shabbat in a beautiful and reflective moment.
  • Special festive dinner at a Moroccan palace, complete with live music to enhance the ambiance.

DAY 8
FAREWELL, MOROCCO: UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

  • Enjoy your final breakfast in Morocco, savoring the last of the country’s rich flavors before checking out of the hotel.
  • Transfer to Marrakech Airport to board your flight back to the United States, filled with lasting memories of Morocco’s rich Jewish heritage and vibrant culture.

  • Amendments to the program: In the event that any sites, programs or meals etc. are added to the program, an additional fee may be required.

A single supplement of $750 will apply, though we will fully reimburse this fee to any Federation that organizes a Morocco mission with us in the future. The refund of the single supplement will only be possible after the mission has taken place and is paid in full.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards.
  • For any assistance with this registration process or other trip-related queries, please email Customer Care: [email protected].
  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
