DAY 1
JOURNEY OF A LIFETIME

  • Your journey begins as you depart from the United States on an extraordinary adventure to Morocco, a land of vibrant culture, layered history, and enduring Jewish heritage.

DAY 2
A TASTE OF MOROCCO
Mon. Apr 20, 2026
  • Arrive at Casablanca International Airport and transfer to your hotel. (Rooms will be available beginning at 3:00 PM.)
  • 11:00 AM – Optional Morning Tour. For those who wish to begin exploring early, join your J² Expert Educator and local Moroccan guide for an introductory tour of Casablanca. Visit a local church, the city’s central square, the site of the historic 1943 Casablanca Conference, and the iconic Rick’s Café. Stroll along the Corniche, Casablanca’s scenic seaside promenade, and enjoy lunch independently by the ocean.
  • Gather in the hotel lobby to meet your J² Expert Educator and Moroccan tour guide, who will accompany you throughout this journey.
  • Hotel inspection.
  • Meet former JDC representative Dorith Ben Moha for tea and Moroccan pastries, gaining personal insight into the history and present realities of Morocco’s Jewish community.
  • Visit the historic Beth El Synagogue, a vibrant center of Jewish life, and meet with Rabbi Judge to reflect on the resilience and continuity of Jewish life in Morocco.
  • Enjoy a festive welcome dinner at a local restaurant, savoring the rich flavors of Moroccan cuisine, from aromatic tagines to delicate pastries.

DAY 3
JDC’S WORK IN MOROCCO

  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Visit the JDC-supported Neve Shalom Jewish Day School and engage with Rabbi Jacky Sebbag to learn about the school’s mission and role in sustaining Jewish life in Morocco.
  • Caring for the Elderly: Visit Casablanca’s Jewish Old Age Home.
  • Continue to the Museum of Moroccan Judaism, the only Jewish museum in the Arab world. Meet curator Zhor Rehihil, who will provide insight into the museum’s exhibits and preservation efforts.
  • Lunch.
  • Explore the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, dramatically situated over the Atlantic Ocean and one of the largest mosques in the world.
  • Travel to Rabat, Morocco’s elegant capital city.
  • Meet with Mr. André Azoulay, Senior Advisor to His Majesty King Mohammed VI .
  • Check in.
  • Meet with Rim Baji over dinner at the hotel. Rim Baji, Chief Partnerships and Sustainability Officer at the High Atlas Foundation. Rim leads the USAID Dakira Program (“Memory”), a cultural heritage initiative which leverages Morocco’s history of interfaith coexistence to foster modern social and economic resilience. By preserving the shared history of Muslims, Jews and Christians, the project strengthens community ties and promotes long-term social solidarity.

DAY 4
RABAT: MOROCCO’S CAPITAL & CULTURAL HUB
Wed. Apr 22, 2026
  • Engage in a meaningful dialogue with young leaders from Association Mimouna, a Muslim organization dedicated to preserving Morocco’s Jewish heritage and strengthening Jewish-Muslim relations.
  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Discover Morocco's capital:
    • Walk around the walls of Rabat’s Royal Palace, the primary residence of the current king Mohammad VI.
    • Visit the majestic mausoleum of Mohammad V, Morocco’s king during World War II, and hear how he helped prevent the Nazis from deporting Morocco’s Jews to the death camps of Europe.
    • Continue to the mausoleum of his son, Hassan II, who ruled over Morocco during the so-called “Years of Lead.”
  • Enjoy free time for lunch on your own.
  • Depart Rabat for Marrakech, the legendary “Red City,” known for its vibrant souks, rich traditions, and striking architecture.
  • Visit Rahba Kedima, also know as the Spice Square, where we'll learn about traditional Moroccan ingredients and enjoy tea from a rooftop terrace. Continuing by foot through the narrow streets of the medina quarter (old city) to Jemaa El Fna, We'll sample a variety of local street foods along the way, including traditional soups, snacks, and other regional specialties.

DAY 5
INTO THE ATLAS MOUNTAINS: BERBER CULTURE & HOSPITALITY
Thu. Apr 23, 2026
  • Depart Marrakech for a scenic journey through the Sidi Abdellah Ghiat and Oued Maleh valleys toward the Atlas Mountains.
  • Visit the grave of Rabbi Shlomo Belhench, a revered Jewish saint known as the “Son of the Snake,” and hear the legends surrounding his life.
  • Continue to a traditional Berber village, where you will be welcomed by the village chief and local musicians.
  • Enjoy a home-cooked lunch featuring fresh, local ingredients while learning about Berber traditions and daily life.
  • Visit a local school to meet students and teachers, gaining insight into education in the region and the challenges and opportunities facing young people.
  • Return to Marrakech in the late afternoon.
  • Participate in an interactive Moroccan cooking class and enjoy dinner featuring the dishes you prepare together.

DAY 6
JEWISH LIFE IN MARRAKECH
Fri. Apr 24, 2026
  • Begin the day with a hotel inspection.
  • Walk through the Mellah, Marrakech’s historic Jewish quarter, rich with synagogues, markets, and centuries of history.
  • Explore the Jewish Cemetery, where prominent Moroccan Jewish leaders are buried, and take part in a meaningful hands-on reflection activity.
  • Visit the Slat El Azama Synagogue, an active and historically significant place of worship.
  • Participate in a hands-on workshop with a master artisan to create traditional Moroccan leather slippers (babouches).
  • Time on own.
  • Celebrate Kabbalat Shabbat at a local synagogue alongside members of the Jewish community.
  • Enjoy a warm and welcoming Shabbat dinner at the home of a local Jewish family.

DAY 7
SHABBAT IN THE RED CITY

  • Participate in a discussion on the role of the imam in Moroccan society, led by a local imam and a professor of English. This session explores Morocco’s unique Islamic traditions and their distinctions from other regional practices.
  • Enjoy a relaxed morning at your own pace or indulge in a traditional Moroccan hammam experience (Optional).
  • Lunch on own ( There are several restaurants at the hotel where you can dine).
  • In the afternoon, those who wish may join a guided walking tour through Marrakech’s Medina, exploring its vibrant markets and historic sites.
  • Visit the elegant Dar El Bacha Palace and the magnificent Ben Youssef Madrasa, known for its intricate craftsmanship.
  • Come together for a communal Havdalah ceremony, marking the close of Shabbat.
  • Celebrate the evening with a festive farewell dinner at a Moroccan palace, accompanied by live music.

DAY 8
FAREWELL, MOROCCO: UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN

  • Enjoy your final breakfast in Morocco.
  • Check out of the hotel and transfer to Marrakech Airport for your return flight to the United States, taking with you lasting memories of Morocco’s vibrant culture and rich Jewish heritage.

  • Amendments to the program: In the event that any sites, programs or meals etc. are added to the program, an additional fee may be required.

A single supplement of $750 will apply, though we will fully reimburse this fee to any Federation that organizes a Morocco mission with us in the future. The refund of the single supplement will only be possible after the mission has taken place and is paid in full.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards.
  • For any assistance with this registration process or other trip-related queries, please email Customer Care: [email protected].
  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
