  • Arrive at Ben-Gurion International Airport. Meet your J² Expert Educator who will accompany you on this journey of education and inspiration.
  • Check into your hotel.
  • Enjoy a welcome dinner at Eucalyptus restaurant, a celebrated dining venue in Jerusalem, hosted by renowned Chef Moshe Basson, known for his modern takes on biblical and ancient cuisine. This unique culinary experience highlights local, seasonal ingredients and storytelling through food.

LAYERS OF JERUSALEM

  • Christmas in Israel: Christmas in Jerusalem is a truly unique time of year. The Old City’s Christian and Armenian quarters, in particular, become adorned with decorations.
  • Tour Jerusalem’s Old City and the Jewish Quarter.
  • Explore the Western Wall Tunnel, the underground continuation of the Kotel, and examine important archaeological discoveries that are revising our understanding of daily life in ancient Jerusalem.
  • Continue to the Jerusalem Archaeological Park.
  • Head to Ezrat Israel, the pluralistic section of the Kotel (Western Wall).
  • Visit the Kotel (Western Wall), widely considered Judaism’s holiest site. We’ll discuss the wall’s historical and contemporary importance and experience its unique atmosphere.
  • Also see: Hurva Square, the center of modern-day life in the Jewish Quarter; The Cardo, the main street of Roman-controlled Jerusalem and its Byzantine-era columns; King Hezekiah’s “Broad Wall,” built to protect Jerusalem from invasion 2,700 years ago.
  • Enjoy the Christmas Eve Concert at the Jerusalem YMCA featuring the Jerusalem Youth Chorus - a choral and dialogue program for Palestinian and Israeli youth in Jerusalem.

IN THE SOUTH

  • Drive south to the Negev.
  • Start your day with a visit to the historic Kibbutz Sde Boker, where you’ll see the grave and former home of David Ben-Gurion, Israel’s first Prime Minister. Reflect on his vision for developing the Negev as you explore the place he chose to retire.
  • Experience the natural beauty of the Negev Desert with a hike through the stunning canyon of Ein Avdat.
  • Meet with a desert agronomist and embark on the Salad Trail, a unique program that blends cutting-edge agriculture with environmental sustainability. Discover innovative farming techniques that make the desert bloom and enjoy fresh produce from this pioneering northern Negev farm.
  • Visit one of the communities deeply impacted by the events of October 7. Learn about their journey of resilience and recovery as they rebuild their lives post-trauma.
  • Conclude your day with a return to Jerusalem, reflecting on the day’s experiences and the enduring spirit of the people and places you’ve encountered.

  • Adults and children over 10: Visit Yad Vashem. Your guided tour will include:
    • The Children’s Memorial.
    • The Historical Museum.
    • The Avenue of the Righteous.
  • Children’s program:
    • The Biblical Zoo.
  • Experience the sights, smells, and tastes of Jerusalem while walking through the Mahane Yehuda open-air market.
  • Join a local congregation for Kabbalat Shabbat.
  • Home Hospitality Shabbat dinner/communal Shabbat dinner with local congregants OR festive Shabbat dinner at the hotel.

DAY 6
SHABBAT IN JERUSALEM

  • Tour the Tower of David Museum and explore the city’s history – from the time of Abraham to the end of the British Mandate over Palestine:
    • Walk and talk with characters from Jerusalem’s history, utilizing virtual and augmented reality.
  • Climb to the rooftops to see and discuss the ties and tensions between the different faith groups and communities of the Old City. From this one spot, we’ll look out over the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, venerated by Christian groups as the burial place of Jesus; the golden Dome of the Rock, which is sacred to Islam; and the Jewish Quarter’s famous Hurva Synagogue. 
  • Our exploration of the Christian Quarter will include following:
    • Via Dolorosa, the path Jesus is believed to have taken when he walked, holding a cross, to the crucifixion.
    • At the end of the Via Dolorosa is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the place where Jesus is said to have been crucified. This church is one of Christianity’s great pilgrimage sites and a testament to the remarkable diversity of the Christian world. It includes an empty tomb where it is said that Jesus was buried and resurrected.
  • Havdalah overlooking the Old City.

DAY 7
MASADA AND THE DEAD SEA
Sun. Dec 28, 2025
  • Take the cable car to the top of Masada, where Jewish rebels are believed to have made their final attempt to resist Roman invaders (c 74 CE).
  • Float into happiness on the Dead Sea where the feeling of weightlessness is great fun.
  • Hike in Nahal David, part of the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve.
  • Ride a camel in the heart of the desert.

I DIG ISRAEL

  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Take part in an interactive archeological dig geared to all ages at the Beit Guvrin Caves.
  • Visit the Ayalon Institute near Rehovot to explore its secret underground ammunition factory, a key part of Israel's independence history.
  • Explore the Old City of Jaffa, including the flea market – Shuk Hapishpishim.
  • Check into the hotel.

COMMUNITIES OF THE NORTH

  • Visit Caesarea, one of the Land of Israel’s most important cities during the Roman Period. Our visit will include exploring its ancient theater palace, and bathhouse. Stop at the Ancient Roman Aqueduct, located on the pristine beaches of Caesarea. Enjoy a guided visit through the ancient city of Caesarea.
  • Explore the Yemin Orde Youth Village, which houses and educates over 400 youth from across the globe.
  • Discover Zichron Ya’acov, one of the first settlements created by the modern Zionist movement.

DAY IN TEL AVIV

  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Walk along the Independence Trail in Tel Aviv and embark on a remarkable journey that begins with the founding of Tel Aviv in 1909 and ends with the establishment of Israel in 1948.
  • Wander through the Carmel Market and Sheinkin Street.
  • Experience the dynamism of Jewish life at the ANU Museum of the Jewish People, dedicated to telling their story and representing their diversity, highlighting the creative works and cultural riches of a variety of communities in different periods of history until the present day.
  • Closing session & farewell dinner.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required in order to complete the registration process.

  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
