  • Welcome dinner with a local expert who will provide a briefing about the latest developments in the region.

DAY 3
BEARING WITNESS
Tue. Apr 2, 2024
  • Chen Kotler will accompany you at Kibbutz Kfar Aza to share the story of October Seventh - day burnt into our memories.
  • Travel to Rahat, Israel's largest Bedouin town. Meet with H'ir Elbaz to discuss the unique place of Israeli Bedouins in the Israel-Hamas War and the pioneering social and educational efforts that are being made for the community.
  • Meet with Israelis who have been displaced from their homes because of the Israel-Hamas War. Get a sense of their struggle and their hopes to return home.
  • Processing time to talk about the day.

DAY 4
AGENTS OF CHANGE

  • Meet with caregivers who volunteer at "Healing Space," an emergency mental health facility that was established during the war in response to the need to care for thousands of traumatized survivors of the Nova Festival.
  • Volunteer/Visit Israel's largest civilian relief center at the Tel Aviv Expo. The relief center is organized and run by volunteers from "Brothers and Sisters in Arms," one of the leading organizations of reserve soldiers and officers who headed the 2023 protest movement.
  • Bring your support to Hostages Square and express your solidarity with all of Israel and ask what I can do to help. End with words of prayer.

EXTENDING OUR HAND

  • Check out of the hotel.
  • The Ongoing Pursuit of a Just Israeli Society: Meet with a leader from the Israel Religious Action Center (IRAC) to learn about the center's efforts to nurture Israel as a Jewish and democratic state.
  • Due to a lack of workers, Israelis now volunteer to work in agriculture. Together with Yozma members, join other volunteers to harvest vegetables in order to provide fresh produce for the country.
  • Drive to Jerusalem and check into the hotel.
  • A Complexed Partnership, Reality of Israeli Arabs today: Dialogue with Mohammed Darawshe, Director of Planning, Equality & Shared Society at the Givat Haviva Center.

SPIRITUALITY AND MORE

  • Join Professor Reuven Hazan of the Political Science Department at Hebrew University for an introduction into Israel’s turbulent political scene as it unfolds in the shadow of the Israel-Hamas War.
  • Prayer and study session with Rabbi Tamar Elad Appelbaum.
  • Visit Mahane Yehuda, a bustling and vibrant open-air market in Jerusalem, and help Israel's economy.
  • Return to the hotel to freshen up before Shabbat.
  • Kabbalat Shabbat and home hospitality dinner.

  • Hear from Hamutal Gouri from Women Wage Peace about her thoughts on social change and hopes for the future.
  • Explore the geopolitics of Jerusalem with site visits and discussions on key issues.
  • Meet Rabbi Oded Mazor, the rabbi of Kehilat Kol Haneshama, for a learning session on the crucial importance of redeeming captives (pidyon shvuyim).
  • Mark the end of Shabbat with a communal Havdalah ceremony overlooking the Old City.
  • Late checkout of the hotel followed by a farewell dinner.
  • Transfer to Ben-Gurion International Airport for your flight back.

What to expect

  • 5 nights' accommodations. Late check out at 6:00 p.m. on the day of departure is included.
  • 6 days of touring with a J² Expert Educator (guide), 6 days of touring in a luxury, air-conditioned bus.
  • Daily breakfast, 1 lunch & 3 dinners.
  • The J² adventures App available on the App Store & on Google Play (active 7 days before your departure and throughout your trip).
  • Water on the bus.
  • Porterage at the hotels.
  • All site entrance fees & program fees as per your final program.
  • Credit card fees.
  • Flights to & from Israel.
  • Late check out past 6:00 p.m. on the day of departure.
  • COVID related expenses, including tests.
  • Evening transportation when dinner is not included.
  • Amendments to the program: In the event that any sites, programs or meals etc. are added to the program, an additional fee may be required.
  • Personal extras: Items of personal nature such as laundry, wines, mineral water, beverages, coffee, tea, food other than the table d’hotel menu, passport and visa fees, insurance, and foreign port taxes, unless otherwise specified.
  • Gratuities: Recommend guidelines for tipping are provided in the terms section.
  • US and foreign airport taxes, Q fuel surcharge and border taxes when applicable.
  • Value Added Tax is currently not applicable to tourists visiting Israel. Should the law change, you will be notified accordingly, and VAT will be added to your final invoice.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required in order to complete the registration process.

  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due on Feb 29, 2024. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
  • Mobility: Solidarity missions are specifically strenuous, and our visits include places that are inaccessible to people who may have mobility challenges. You should be in good health and able to walk reasonable distances, often over unpaved and uneven surfaces. PLEASE NOTE: In some cases you may need to run to a shelter, if you have questions regarding this matter please speak to a J² representative.
