  • Meet your J² Expert Educator, who will guide your community through this exciting journey of discovery, education, and inspiration.
  • Visit the Ayalon Institute near Rehovot and its secret ammunition factory.
  • Walk through the Carmel Market and Sheinkin Street.
  • Explore the White City of Tel Aviv and walk along the newly-opened Independence Trail in Tel Aviv and embark on a remarkable journey that begins with the founding of Tel Aviv in 1909 and ends with the establishment of Israel in 1948.
  • Pause at Hostages Square and reflect on Israel’s relentless efforts to bring every hostage home. Discover the emotional stories of resilience and heroism, and gain a deeper understanding of how this site symbolizes the nation's unwavering commitment to the safety and wellbeing of its people.
  • Come together for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant, where you'll savor your first taste of Israel's vibrant and diverse culinary scene, and orientation with your trip leader and expert educator.

STORIES OF THE CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS

  • Breakfast at an Israeli hotel is an experience in itself. Start the day with a bounteous buffet.
  • Start your journey in Israel with a stop at the Jaffa lookout for a panoramic introduction to Tel Aviv and an overview of your adventure in Israel.
  • Immerse yourself in the vibrant energy of Jaffa's Flea Market - Shuk Hapishpeshim, where the bustling stalls, eclectic treasures, and rich history create a sensory adventure.
  • Ethnic Tasting Tour: Eat, drink, and learn at the Levinsky Market, where we’ll sample food and sweets from all over the Mediterranean and the Middle East and try to figure out what is Israeli about Israeli food. This multi-cultural tasting tour will double up as a delicious lunch.
  • Take a walk through the Bohemian neighborhood of Florentine, Tel Aviv, and admire its ever-changing murals and street art, reflecting the city’s dynamic cultural energy.
  • Walk along Rothschild Boulevard, the epicenter of the Tel Aviv scene, and follow the Independence Trail in Tel Aviv to embark on a remarkable journey that begins with the founding of Tel Aviv in 1909 and ends with the establishment of Israel in 1948.
  • Return to your hotel.
  • The City at Night: Israel’s food scene is on fire with world-class chefs and a huge range of happening restaurants. See and taste for yourself with dinner on own. We’ll be happy to make reservations and recommendations so that you can enjoy a night out at the Israeli restaurant ideal for you.

DAY 4
BEARING WITNESS
Tue. Mar 17, 2026
  • Drive south to the Gaza Envelope.
  • Walk through Kibbutz Kfar Aza on Israel’s border with the Gaza Strip and meet a resident of the kibbutz to hear about the October 7 attack, its aftermath, and the community’s ongoing efforts to rebuild and recover.
  • Continue to Sderot, located on Israel’s border with the Gaza Strip. See an overview of Gaza, take time to have lunch on your own, and engage with local residents to gain a deeper understanding of what the town and its people have experienced since October 7.
  • Pay your respects at the memorial site of the Nova Festival at Kibbutz Re'im, and learn about the tragic events that took place there through a guided tour of the location.
  • Reflect at the "Burnt Vehicles Compound", where 1,560 vehicles evacuated from the Gaza Envelope stand as silent witnesses to October 7.
  • Devote time to reflection and processing with your tour leader and educator before returning to Tel Aviv.

DAY 5
THE GALILEE MOSAIC

  • Check out of hotel and depart Tel Aviv along the coast.
  • Experience the dynamism of Jewish life at the ANU Museum of the Jewish People, dedicated to telling their story and representing their diversity, highlighting the creative works and cultural riches of a variety of communities in different periods of history until the present day.
  • Drive along the coast and tour Caesarea, one of Israel’s most significant archaeological sites from the Roman period. Explore the ruins of the ancient city, including the Roman amphitheater, hippodrome, aqueduct, and Herod’s seaside palace.
  • Take a spice-tasting tour of Derech Hatavlinim (The Spice Road Farm). Discover the ways that nature's bounty was cultivated in ancient times and became part of the shared culinary landscape of Jews and Arabs in this rich, historic landscape.
  • From the Arbel cliff and fortress, the entire Galilee is laid out before us, from the Hermon peak to mystical Tzfat, to the shores of the Kinneret where Jesus and his students and the modern-day pioneers of early Israel dreamed of a more perfect world.
  • Drive to the Galilee to check into your kibbutz hotel and enjoy dinner.

DAY 6
IN THE SHADOW OF CHALLENGE

  • Paradise Springs is one of the places we'll visit at the Tel Dan Nature Reserve. We'll tour the remains of a 5,000-year-old city and find out why water is like gold in the parched Middle East.
  • Hit the ground racing as we go off-road for a Jeep tour on the Golan Heights that will combine natural beauty with insights into one of Israel's most strategically important areas. The panoramic views from Mt. Bental (overlooking the abandoned Syrian town of Kuneitra) enable you to understand the enormous challenges Israel faced in the wars of 1967 and 1973, and even today with the increasing presence of Russia and Iran.
  • Sample the Golan Height’s finest wine at the Pelter Winery, owned by brothers who ran this winery out of their family farm backyard.
  • Visit the Talmudic period synagogue of Katzrin. How did Jews endure the Roman destruction of Jerusalem and continue to maintain Jewish life and community?
  • The Valley of Tears Memorial to the fighters who fell in the tank battles that prevented the Syrian invasion of Israel in the 1973 Yom Kippur War tells a story as relevant today as it was over fifty years ago.
  • Join an Israeli-Druze family at their home to talk, over tea and coffee, about their lives and to join them for a GalilEat cooking workshop, followed by a traditional dinner.
  • Return to your hotel.

DAY 7
MOUNTAIN TO MOUNTAIN - FROM THE GALILEE TO JERUSALEM

  • Check out from your hotel as we begin our journey to Jerusalem.
  • Visit Sindyanna of Galilee and sample some of their award-winning olive oil. We’ll learn how this non-profit organization is producing fine, fair-trade products and creating economic opportunities for Arab women, one of Israel’s most underemployed sectors. Our light lunch will include the local favorite of manakish (pita bread, olive oil, and za’atar), tahina, olives, bread, Arab coffee, and more.
  • Continue to Jerusalem along the trans-Israel highway demarcating pre-1967 Israel from the West Bank/Judaea and Samaria and the Palestinian Territories.
  • Stop at Mishkenot Shaananim and Yemin Moshe, the first Jerusalem neighborhoods outside of the walls of the Old City. At the famous windmill, catch your first glimpse of the Jerusalem vista.
  • Check in at your Jerusalem hotel with time to prepare for Shabbat.
  • Shabbat Shalom. We will join a local congregation for Friday evening prayers - Kabbalat Shabbat - and for Shabbat dinner with local families.

DAY 8
SHABBAT IN JERUSALEM

  • Enjoy a leisurely Shabbat breakfast at your hotel.
  • Walk along the streets of the Old City as we explore the love and jealousies that fill the past and the present of Jerusalem.
  • Take a walking tour through Jerusalem's Old City and the Jewish Quarter and experience the center of Jewish life, history, and holiness. Among the highlights will be:
    • A climb to the rooftops to see and discuss the ties and tensions between the different faith groups and communities of the Old City. From this one spot, we'll look out over the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, venerated by Christian groups as the burial place of Jesus; the golden Dome of the Rock, which is sacred to Islam; and the Jewish Quarter's famous Hurva Synagogue.
    • The Cardo, the main street of Roman-controlled Jerusalem and its spectacular Byzantine-era columns.
    • King Hezekiah's
    • Visit the compound of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, the site according to pre-reformation Christianity of the crucifixion, the burial, and the resurrection of Jesus.
    • A chance for lunch on your own and a shopping break along the main boulevard of the Old City market.
    • Visit an Armenian ceramic artist in his studio to learn how these artistic pieces are made.
    • Ascend to the rooftops of the Old City for a spectacular view of the Temple Mount, the Noble Sanctuary, and the Mount of Olives.
    • We will walk down to the Western Wall - the site hallowed by Jews for centuries in memory of the Temple. From the prayer plaza, we will continue to Azrat Yisrael, the pluralistic prayer plaza for moments of prayer and reflection.
    • Return to the hotel for an opportunity to relax.
    • Come together as a community to mark the end of Shabbat with a group havdalah service and take time to reflect on your time in Israel.
    • As Jerusalem returns to a new week, enjoy a free night out so you can get to know Jerusalem like a local.

DAY 9
LOOKING BACKWARD, LOOKING FORWARD

  • Visit the Yad Vashem complex, the Jewish National Memorial to the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust, including:
    • The Avenue of the Righteous.
    • The Historical Museum.
    • The Children’s Memorial.
    • A The Valley of the Communities.
    • A concluding Memorial Service.
  • Take time to explore Jerusalem’s lively Mahane Yehuda Market, where you’ll immerse yourself in the vibrant sights, sounds, and scents of this dynamic hub. Wander through the colorful stalls and savor the flavors of the city’s diverse and dynamic culinary scene.
  • Continue to Mount Herzl, Israel's central military cemetery and host of the graves of the leaders of the nation. Contend with the human price paid by the families, people and state of Israel.
  • Return to the hotel.
  • In the evening, immerse yourself in Jerusalem’s vibrant nightlife, including shopping at Mamilla Mall or exploring the First Station and Ben Yehuda Pedestrian Mall.

DAY 10
TAKING IT ALL BACK HOME

  • Check out and depart from your Jerusalem hotel.
  • Mooning speakers- Bridges of Hope.
  • Visit the Yad Sarah medical supply volunteer center. Volunteer and add to their crucial work assisting Israelis in need.
  • Explore the National Library of Israel. The new Israel National Library provides the opportunity to understand centuries of Jewish creativity through one of the world’s most impressive collections of Jewish and Israel-related literature. In addition, the library staff is dedicated to a national project documenting the events of October 7, 2023.
  • Enjoy Emek Refaim, a chance to drink a coffee, eat lunch, and people-watch. Pick up gifts for friends and family as we begin to prepare for the completion of our journey.
  • Time on own for last minute shopping.
  • Devote time to sharing and reflection. What experiences were particularly impressive for you? What are you taking home from Israel to Boulder?
  • Celebrate the end of your journey in Israel with a festive private farewell dinner at a local restaurant.
  • Transfer to Ben-Gurion International Airport to check in and prepare for your flight.
  • Fly safely and return to Israel soon!

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required in order to complete the registration process.

  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
