Early bird discount: Participants who complete registration and pay the $500 per person deposit by midnight, October 15, 2023, will receive $100 off per person, which will be deducted from the final trip invoice.

Program Itinerary

DAY 1
WELCOME TO ISRAEL
Tue. Aug 20, 2024
  • Arrive at Ben-Gurion International Airport.
  • Meet your tour educator who will accompany you on this journey of education and inspiration.
  • Check in at your hotel.
  • Stop at the Haas Promenade for a traditional “shehechiyanu” blessing of thanksgiving. Welcome to Jerusalem.
  • Welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 2
SEVENTY FACES OF JERUSALEM
Wed. Aug 21, 2024
  • Tour Jerusalem’s Old City and the Jewish Quarter.
  • Among the highlights will be:
    • A climb to the rooftops, overlooking the Temple Mount, the golden Dome of the Rock, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and the famous Hurva Synagogue.
    • The Cardo, the main street of Roman-controlled Jerusalem and its Byzantine-era columns.
    • Hurva Square, the center of modern-day life in the Jewish Quarter.
    • King Hezekiah’s “Broad Wall,” built to protect Jerusalem from invasion 2,700 years ago.
  • Visit the Kotel (Western Wall), widely considered Judaism’s holiest site. We’ll discuss the wall’s historical and contemporary importance and experience its unique atmosphere.
  • Travel to the Etzion Bloc - an area of Jewish settlement in the area of Judaea/the Southern part of the West Bank.
  • Option 1:
    • Meet with the activists from Shorashim (Roots), a program bringing West Bank Palestinians and their Jewish neighbors together despite their fears and suspicions.
  • Option 2:
    • Ride the longest zipline in Israel at “Eretz Ha’ayalim” (Deer Land) in the Etzion Bloc.
  • Return to Jerusalem for a free evening.

DAY 3
THE PRESENCE OF THE PAST
Thu. Aug 22, 2024
  • Option 1:
    • Visit Yad Vashem, the national memorial and education center dedicated to the six million Jewish victims of the Holocaust.
  • Option 2:
    • Visit Pantry Packers, where you will pack food for Israel’s poorest families.
  • All: Experience the sights, smells, and tastes of Jerusalem while walking through the Mahane Yehuda open-air market.
  • Travel to the Judaean Lowlands - an area rich with Biblical stories and associations including Samson and Delilah, and David and Goliath.
  • Take part in an interactive archeological dig geared to all ages at the Beit Guvrin Caves.
  • Return to Jerusalem, explore the city on your own and enjoy the shops, cafes, and people-watching along Ben Yehuda Street, Zion Square, and Jaffa Road.

DAY 4
A DEAD SEA AND A LIVING DESERT
Fri. Aug 23, 2024
  • Take the cable car to the top of Masada, where Jewish rebels are believed to have made their final attempt to resist Roman invaders (c 74 CE).
  • Float into happiness on the Dead Sea where the feeling of weightlessness is great fun.
  • Return to Jerusalem to prepare for Shabbat. Shabbat Shalom.
  • Participate in a Kabbalat Shabbat Yerushalmit with hundreds of Jerusalemites at the Old Train Station.
  • An exclusive conversation with one of Israel's leading journalists who will join us for Shabbat dinner.

DAY 5
SHABBAT IN JERUSALEM
Sat. Aug 24, 2024
  • Shabbat morning services at Ezrat Yisrael with Rabbi Ari. Ezrat Yisrael is the prayer area for Reform and Conservative congregations along the Western Wall.
  • Shabbat lunch at the hotel.
  • Time to enjoy the Shabbat vibe, take advantage of the hotel pool, and relax.
  • Optional: Explore the pastoral neighborhoods of Yemin Moshe and Mishkenot Sha'ananim, where the great banker and philanthropist Sir Moses Montefiore developed the famous windmill and the artists’ colony.
  • Mark the end of Shabbat with a communal Havdalah ceremony overlooking the Old City.
  • Free Evening in Jerusalem along Emek Refaim Street in the German Colony and the First Station.

DAY 6
A CITY THAT NEVER SLEEPS
Sun. Aug 25, 2024
  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Depart Jerusalem and travel to Tel Aviv.
  • Stop at the Jaffa lookout for an introduction to Tel Aviv.
  • Tour Southern Tel Aviv with a local artist to check out street murals and graffiti.
  • Experience the dynamism of Jewish life at the newly-opened ANU Museum of the Jewish People, dedicated to telling their story and representing their diversity, highlighting the creative works and cultural riches of a variety of communities in different periods of history until the present day.
  • Drive through the scenic Galilee and check in at your hotel.
  • Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 7
A NORTHERN ADVENTURE
Mon. Aug 26, 2024
  • Enjoy a hike in the beautiful Tel Dan Nature Reserve.
  • Go for a jeep tour of the Golan Heights.
  • Option 1:
    • Visit the Odem Mountain Winery at the foot of Mt. Hermon on the Golan Heights for wine tasting.
  • Option 2:
    • Visit the Odem Freedom Farm - an animal refuge and rehab center. Meet the staff and interact with the animals.
  • All: Raft or kayak down the Jordan River.
  • Dinner at the hotel.

DAY 8
FROM THE MOUNTAINS TO THE SEA
Tue. Aug 27, 2024
  • Check out from the hotel.
  • Spend time in the capital of Jewish mysticism - Tsfat, where you will:
    • Walk through the Artists’ Colony.
    • Visit the synagogues of Tsfat and the overlook point from the city on Mount Meron and the Galilee Mountains.
  • Make your way from the heights of the Galilee to the Mediterranean Coast.
  • Guided visit to the ancient city of Caesarea - one of the most magnificent cities of the ancient Mediterranean.
  • Time for reflection and sharing and a farewell dinner.
  • Depart Israel and return to the USA. Travel Safely.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required in order to complete the registration process.

  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
  • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
  • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
