YOUR journey
J² crafts journeys of inspiration, education, and Jewish connections to Israel and worldwide. We are guided by a simple but powerful concept: No two trips are the same; each experience should be personal, meaningful, and backed by superb service. Program Itinerary
- After saying goodbye to your fellow travelers, return to your hotel for a final evening in Buenos Aires.
- Check out of your hotel and transfer to Jorge Newbery Airport in Buenos Aires.
- Depart on a direct flight to Patagonia.
- Arrive in El Calafate, a lakeside village set along the southern shore of Lake Argentino. Named for the native calafate berry, local legend holds that anyone who tastes its fruit is destined to return—a fitting promise in a place that draws travelers back time and again. Today, this charming town serves as the gateway to Los Glaciares National Park and the legendary Perito Moreno Glacier.
- Transfer to your hotel for check-in and time to settle in.
- Set out from El Calafate, crossing the Patagonian steppe as the landscape gradually transforms into the lush Andean forest. Along the way, your guide shares insights into the history, geology, and significance of the remarkable Perito Moreno Glacier.
- Inside the national park, explore a 5-km network of walkways offering sweeping, panoramic views of one of Patagonia’s most awe-inspiring sights. Take time to pause, absorb the scenery, and capture unforgettable moments.
- Enjoy a boxed lunch en route.
- At Bajo de las Sombras Port, board a vessel to cross Lago Rico. After a short navigation, land on the opposite shore and begin a 30-minute walk with continuous views of the glacier’s imposing southern face.
- At the glacier’s edge, take in its immense scale and brilliant blue hues before following your guide along a natural path of sand and stone. Continue on a 1.5-km walk through shoreline and forest landscapes, with the glacier dominating the horizon.
- Re-board your boat for a close-up cruise just meters from the glacier’s towering walls—an unforgettable perspective of its striking formations.
- Back on land, return to the walkways for additional time to admire the glacier’s vast and dramatic panorama.
- Return to your hotel.
- Enjoy an intimate dinner at Rancho Aparte, a closed‑door dining experience where warm hospitality, local flavors, and traditional Argentine cuisine come together for a truly authentic Patagonian evening.
- Depart from Punta Bandera Port and navigate the northern arm of Lake Argentino by boat. Sail along the Upsala Channel to its furthest accessible point, where you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the immense Upsala Glacier.
- Disembark at Estancia Cristina and continue by 4WD vehicle with your expert guide.
- A guided walk across glacial terrain leads to the Upsala Glacier Lookout Point, where you’ll take in breathtaking views of Lake Guillermo, the glacier’s eastern front, and the vast Southern Patagonian Ice Field.
- Return to the estancia for a served lunch.
- Visit the estancia’s museum - housed in a former shearing shed - to learn about the history of the Masters family, pioneers who settled this remote region over a century ago.
- Conclude with a guided walk along the Caterina River, passing the estancia’s well, chapel, and main house, offering a glimpse into life in this isolated Patagonian outpost.
- Return to your hotel.
- Check out of your hotel and transfer to El Calafate Airport.
- Fly back to Buenos Aires.
- Arrive in Buenos Aires and transfer from Jorge Newbery Airport to Ezeiza International Airport for your evening flight home (recommended departure no earlier than 10:00 p.m.)
