DAY 1
ARRIVAL AND ROOTS OF RESILIENCE
Mon. Jul 6, 2026
- Arrive at Warsaw International Airport and transfer to your hotel.
- 2:00 PM – Program begins.
- Meet your J² Expert Educator, Muki Jankelowitz, who will accompany you on this journey of Jewish education and inspiration.
- Visit the Nozyk Synagogue, the only pre-Holocaust synagogue still in use in Warsaw. Meet Rabbi Michael Schudrich, Chief Rabbi of Poland.
- Continue to the Gensha Cemetery, one of the largest Jewish cemeteries in the world. Walk among its unique tombstones and honor the memories of leaders, artists, and scholars who shaped Polish Jewish life.
- Check into your hotel.
- Take a walking tour of Warsaw’s Old Town. Meticulously rebuilt after WWII, its historic streets and beautiful squares reflect the city’s post-war rebirth.
- Enjoy a welcome dinner at Stolica and orientation at a local restaurant. Sample Polish specialties, including vegetarian pierogis.

DAY 2
LIFE IN A SHTETL AND ITS TRAGIC END
Tue. Jul 7, 2026
- Depart the hotel and drive to Tykocin.
- The town of Tykocin will provide us with insights into the Jewish world of the shtetl. We’ll walk its streets and visit its Baroque synagogue with historic wall paintings that were reconstructed in the 1970s. The former beit midrash (study hall) is the setting for a museum about the town and its Jewish past.
- Just outside Tykocin, we’ll trace the footsteps of the town’s 2,000 Jews who in August 1941 were marched into the Lopuchowo Forest and executed. We’ll pay tribute to them and try to comprehend, in this quiet woodland with its mass graves and monuments, the last moments of Jewish community of Tykocin.
- Packed lunch en route.
- For many years, the world knew little about Treblinka. This extermination camp was leveled completely by the Nazis and very few inmates survived to give witness. However, it is now understood that this was one of largest killing centers of the Holocaust. Our focus will be on Treblinka as a place of Jewish heroism and not just of death. The educator Janusz Korczak was killed here because he refused to abandon the children from the orphanage he ran. We will also recall the prisoner revolt and escape attempt of May 2, 1943.
- Return to the hotel.
- Enjoy a free evening in Warsaw. Before World War Two and subsequent Communist rule, Warsaw was considered Europe’s “city of lights.” It is now regaining that reputation. Check out Warsaw’s nightlife and take your choice from its many restaurants, bar, and cafés.

MEMORY AND REVIVAL

- Visit the award-winning POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews. Through interactive exhibits, trace 1,000 years of Jewish life in Poland, from thriving communities to Holocaust devastation and modern revival.
- Enjoy lunch on your own at the trendy Norblin Factory, offering diverse culinary options and vibrant atmosphere.
- Take a guided tour of the Warsaw Ghetto, with stops at:
- The Ghetto Wall Remnants.
- The Nathan Rapoport Warsaw Ghetto Memorial.
- Mila 18 Bunker, a site of Jewish resistance during the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising.
- Umschlagplatz, the assembly point where thousands of Jews were deported to Treblinka.
- Explore the powerful Ringelblum Archives, documenting life and death in the ghetto.
- Visit Warsaw Hillel and meet Magda Dorosz, Director of Hillel Warsaw, to learn about Jewish youth and community life today.
- Evening and dinner at leisure.

- Check out of the hotel and travel by train to Krakow, passing through scenic Polish countryside.
- Take an in-depth tour of Kazimierz, Krakow’s historic Jewish Quarter. Once a thriving hub of Jewish life, it’s now a center of cultural renewal.
- Visit the Altshul Synagogue, the oldest standing synagogue in Poland.
- Visit the Rema Synagogue and adjacent cemetery, burial site of renowned Rabbi Moses Isserles.
- Explore the Galicia Jewish Museum, which commemorates Holocaust victims and celebrates the culture of Polish Galicia through a contemporary lens.
- Check into your hotel.
- Evening at leisure to explore Krakow’s culinary scene.

AUSCHWITZ: WITNESS AND REMEMBRANCE

- Visit the Auschwitz–Birkenau complex, the largest Nazi concentration and extermination camp.
- Tour Auschwitz I and its museum, with exhibits documenting the lives and deaths of prisoners.
- Visit Auschwitz II–Birkenau, largely preserved since the war, offering a haunting window into the Holocaust’s scale and horror.
- Reflect on survivor stories and honor the memory of the victims.
- Lunch at Nanovo Restaurant.
- Visit the restored Oswiecim Synagogue, a silent witness to the tragedy that unfolded nearby.
- Return to Krakow.
- Come together for Kabbalat Shabbat at the Krakow Jewish Community Center.
- Enjoy Shabbat dinner with community members who are helping rebuild Jewish life in Poland.

- Enjoy a performance from TATA ZAZA, an Israeli Dance Ensemble. Founded seven years ago by Dorit Porat, the TATA ZAZA was created to bring together women from the Jordan Valley who shared a passion for dance and a dream of performing. Today, the group consists of inspiring women aged 70 to 87 - proud grandmothers who dedicate their time and energy to pursuing their love of movement and artistic expression.

- Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
- How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required in order to complete the registration process.

- Payments | The balance of your payment is due 120 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
- Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
- Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
- J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
- Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
- Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 120 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 119 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
- Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
