- Arrive at Marco Polo International Airport.
- Transfer to the hotel for check-in.
- 7:45 p.m. Gather in the hotel lobby and meet your tour educator Mike Hollander and local representative Mario Villanis who will accompany you on your journey in Italy.
- 8:00 p.m. Private and festive wine & Venetian tapas dinner at La Barrique Wine Bar and orientation dialogue with your tour educator. Share group and personal goals.

DAY 3
JEWISH VENICE
Tue. Feb 21, 2023
- 8:30 a.m. Depart the hotel.
- On this last day of the Carnival of Venice , visit St. Marks Square to begin a guided walking tour of romantic Venice.
- View the Golden Basilica of San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs, and visit the Doges Palace.
- Lunch on own.
- Walking tour through the alleys, bridges, and canals as an introduction to Italy and its Jewish story.
- Tour the Jewish Ghetto that was the physical and spiritual home of the Jews from 1515 to 1848, followed by a visit to the Great Synagogue.
- Return to the hotel by private boat.
- Dinner on your own and evening at leisure.

DAY 4
EXPLORING VENICE
Wed. Feb 22, 2023
- 8:45 a.m. Depart the hotel by private boat.
- Visit the Island of Murano and tour one of its many glass-making industries.
- Visit the colorful Island of Burano, noted for its lace work and colorfully painted houses.
- Lunch on your own, en route.
- Return to the hotel.
- Remainder of the afternoon to enjoy Venice on your own.
- Dinner on your own and evening at leisure.

TUSCANY’S ROLLING HILLS & JEWISH LIFE
Thu. Feb 23, 2023
- 8:00 a.m. Check out of the hotel and depart by private boat.
- Drive through the beautiful countryside of Tuscany. Learn about Tuscany’s flourishing Jewish life from the 13th-15th centuries as well as later periods when Jews hid in this region during the Holocaust.
- Visit Ferrara, established almost 1,000 years ago, whose history was indelibly entwined with that of the Jewish community.
- Continue south toward Florence.
- Check into the hotel.
- Dinner on own with time to explore the streets of Florence at night.

DAY 6
THE CRADLE OF RENAISSANCE
Fri. Feb 24, 2023
- 9:00 a.m. Depart the hotel.
- Begin the tour of Florence with a close look at the Jewish world that was once centered here. Visit the Museo Ebraica (Jewish Museum) and the Synagogue.
- Explore the open air art museum of Signoria Square ending at Ponte Vecchio, or the "Old Bridge.”
- Lunch on your own en route.
- Visit the Academia of Fine Arts, where Michelangelo's David is housed.
- Walk to the Duomo, celebrated for its magnificent dome designed by Brunelleschi, and view the Baptistery's renowned "Gates of Paradise" by Ghiberti.
- Return to the hotel.
- 6:30 p.m. Kabbalat Shabbat services at your hotel, led by Rabbi Steven Lowenstein.
- 7:45 p.m. Shabbat dinner at Angiolino - Ai 13 Arrosti restaurant.

THE WONDER OF TUSCANY
Sat. Feb 25, 2023
- 8:30 a.m. Depart Florence for Sienna.
- Tour of Sienna which will include a visit to the Sienna Dome and an outside view of the Jewish synagogue.
- Lunch on your own, en route.
- Tour San Gimignano, which is famous for its medieval architecture, unique in the preservation of about a dozen of its tower houses.
- Drive along the Chianti wine route, and stop for a typical Tuscany wine tasting with local specialists at Podere La Marronaia.
- Return to Florence.
- Dinner on your own and evening at leisure.

JEWISH STORIES ON THE ROAD TO ROME

- Check out of the hotel.
- 9:00 a.m. Depart Florence and drive south toward Rome.
- Stop along the way in Pitigiliano, once known as “La Piccola Gerusalemme”/ Little Jerusalem because of its once-thriving Jewish community.
- Lunch on own, en route.
- Visit of Pitigiliano including the Jewish Museum.
- Continue to Rome.
- Enter the Eternal City and take a panoramic tour of Rome and its vistas.
- Check into the hotel.
- Dinner on your own and evening at leisure.

DAY 9
ANCIENT ROME’S JEWISH STORY
Mon. Feb 27, 2023
- 8:40 a.m. Transfer from the hotel to the Vatican Museum.
- Special visit to the Vatican Museum and view some of the seldom revealed, Jewish historic relics found there.
- Continue to the Sistine Chapel, followed by a visit to St. Peter's Basilica, the Late Renaissance church located within the Vatican City.
- Lunch on own.
- Explore some of Rome’s most beautiful constructions, including the Spanish Steps, Europe’s longest and widest staircase which climbs a steep slope between the Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Trinita dei Monti; the Trevi Fountain, the largest baroque fountain in the city; and Piazza Navona (Navona Square).
- Walk back to the hotel and enjoy a free evening in Rome.

THE GLORY OF ROME

- 8:30 a.m. Depart the hotel.
- Tour Ancient Rome, including the Coliseum, the Roman Forum, and the Arch of Titus.

- Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
- How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit is required in order to complete the registration process.

- Payments | The balance of your payment is due 90 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
- Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
- Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.

- Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
- Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 90 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 89 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
- Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
