DAY 2
DISCOVERING BUENOS AIRES
Mon. Aug 25, 2025
  • Arrive at Buenos Aires International Airport.
  • Meet your J² Expert Educator who will accompany you on this Jewish journey of education and inspiration.
  • Tour the colorful La Boca neighborhood. Stroll along "Caminito" and admire the streets filled with souvenir shops and tango dancers.
  • Enjoy a guided tour of Buenos Aires, including:
    • Avenida de Mayo that runs into the Plaza De Mayo, which is surrounded by the Casa Rosada (Government House).
    • The Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cabildo (first City Hall, built during Spanish rule).
    • The Congress Building, located at the other end of Avenida de Mayo.
  • Continue to Puerto Madero, one of the largest projects ever undertaken in Buenos Aires. The former docks of the port have been converted into luminous offices, lofts, and commercial sites. The visit will include a 20-minute navigation of Puerto Madero aboard a premium boat in order to get a different view of the city.
  • Check into the hotel (rooms will be available as of 3:00 p.m.).
  • Enjoy a welcome dinner and orientation with your Expert Educator.

DAY 3
CULTURAL AND JEWISH HERITAGE IN BUENOS AIRES

  • Visit the Jewish Museum at Libertad Synagogue, located within Buenos Aires' Grand Synagogue, to discover the rich history and cultural significance of Argentine Jewry through exhibits showcasing artifacts and photographs.
  • Explore the renowned Teatro Colón, Buenos Aires' main opera house, ranked the third-best globally by National Geographic. Revered for its exceptional acoustics, it stands among the top five concert venues worldwide.
  • Visit Café Tortoni, one of the oldest and most iconic cafés in Buenos Aires, serving as a cultural landmark that reflects the city's rich history and vibrant social life
  • Explore the “Once District,” a neighborhood that houses the majority of Jewish institutions in Buenos Aires, including the Hebraica JCC, numerous synagogues, Jewish theaters, Jewish schools, and rabbinical seminaries.
  • Stop at the site of the terrorist bombing at the AMIA in 1994, see the new building, as well as the memorial dedicated to the 89 victims.
  • Return to the hotel.

GAUCHO CULTURE IN THE PAMPAS

  • Depart the city to experience Gaucho culture with a full-day trip from Buenos Aires. En route, receive a brief introduction to the unique history of Jewish immigrants in Argentina, including the early Jewish settlers in the pampas who became known as the “Jewish Gauchos.” Gauchos became emblematic of resilience and independence, embodying a rugged spirit that resonates through Argentine culture to this day.
  • Enjoy a traditional Argentine BBQ with wine and watch the gauchos show off their incredible riding skills.
  • Return to the hotel.
  • Evening at leisure and dinner on own.

DAY 5
THE JEWISH COMMUNITY IN DEPTH

  • Explore the cultural and educational significance of Scholem Aleijem School, a local Jewish institution in Buenos Aires.
  • Tikkun Olam: Volunteer at the Community Medicine Bank Refuot, a central pharmacy, a facility that centralizes the purchase of medicines for all the beneficiaries in the Jewish community’s welfare system.
  • Discover the vibrant streets of Palermo Soho and their boutique stores.
  • Dialogue with Wally Liebhaber, Director of Malka, a youth program designed to engage Jewish young adults between the ages of 18 and 35. This initiative focuses on creating diverse activities and content that foster community, personal growth, and Jewish identity among its participants.
  • Visit the Holocaust Museum in Buenos Aires, delving into how the history of the Holocaust reverberated through Argentina.
  • End the day with a lesson led by a professional dancer. Learn to dance like a local while uncovering the history of tango and its significance in everyday Argentine life.
  • Return to the hotel.

MEMORIALS, ART, AND SHABBAT IN BUENOS AIRES

  • Visit the memorial park dedicated to honoring the victims of state terrorism, commemorating those who were unlawfully detained, disappeared, and killed by the state between 1969 and 1983.
  • Stop at El Ateneo Grand Splendid, one of the most beautiful bookshops in the world.
  • Enjoy a special visit to MALBA, the Latin American Art Museum of Buenos Aires, which houses the works of many well-known Latin American artists.
  • Return to the hotel to get ready for Shabbat.
  • Attend Kabbalat Shabbat services at a local synagogue followed by a communal dinner with local congregants.

DAY 7
FAREWELL TOUR OF RECOLETA AND DEPARTURE

  • Check out of the hotel.
  • Take a walking tour through the Recoleta neighborhood, known for its beautiful European architecture, which houses many embassies and palaces. This glamorous area is filled with elegant boutiques, top-notch restaurants.
  • Stop at the Israeli Embassy Memorial, which was bombed on March 17, 1992. Twenty-nine people lost their lives in the tragedy.
  • Explore the historic Recoleta Cemetery in Buenos Aires, where you'll walk among ornate mausoleums, admire stunning architecture, and visit the graves of notable figures like Eva Perón, all set in a serene and reflective atmosphere.
  • Farewell lunch.
  • Transfer to the airport for your evening flight.

  • Validity | All prices quoted are based on exchange rates as of the proposal date and are subject to change without notice. Rates are per person and are based on shared twin room occupancy.
  • How to Make a Reservation | The quickest way to make a reservation is to register online or contact us by email. We accept VISA, MasterCard, and American Express credit cards. A non-refundable deposit of $1,000 is required in order to complete the registration process.

  • Payments | The balance of your payment is due 120 days before your trip begins, or as specified in your invoice. You will receive an email reminder 2 weeks before this date. Various payment options are available as follows:
    • Credit card | We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please check with your credit card provider regarding international processing fees. We are unable to process payments of over $1,000 over the phone. Please submit payment online via a credit card or by wiring funds via your bank.
    • Domestic bank wire transfer | Payment should be wired in the same currency that is listed on your invoice. Please add the name of your group or invoice number as a reference and forward a copy of the transfer receipt by email. The bank transfer should clearly state the beneficiary’s name on the wire transfer.
  • J² Adventures reserves the right to automatically cancel your reservation on that date and it may be subject to reconfirmation should the final payment not be received.
  • Cancelation Policy | All cancelations need to be made in writing. The cancelation fee depends on the date when we receive written notification of your request to cancel your booking. Please note that the deposit is non-refundable.
  • Cancelation fees | Cancelations made 120 or more days prior to departure incur the loss of the deposit. Cancelations made 119 to 46 days prior to departure incur the loss of 50% of the full trip cost. Cancelations made 45 days or less prior to the departure incur the loss of 100% of the full trip cost.
  • Cancelation fees may also include: Hotel or supplier cancelation fees. J² Adventures reserves the right to adjust its terms of payment, including cancelation policies and initial deposits.
